Best pub we visited EVER!! 
We are from the USA and were in Notts for two weeks. We visited this pub during our trip round the area. All I can say is pay them a visit!!!! When we entered we were greeted by a very pleasant barman with a great smile and after ordering the beer of the day was told that the keg was just being changed. He actually bought our drinks to our table again with a smile. We decided to eat and were very, very pleased with both the meal and the service. As soon as we had finished with our dishes they were cleared away, again, by our very jovial barman. We also found them to be very reasonably priced too. The steak I ordered was just a little overdone and when I mentioned it, the staff were happy to cook me another without any grumbles and always with a smile. It's a shame that this pub is in the back and beyond because this was one of the highlights of our stay in the UK. I wonder though, would it lose some of it's excellent character and friendliness if it moved elsewhere. We would recommend you pay a visit to this pub both to eat and drink. The staff are very friendly and accomodating to the customers needs.
