Awful experience

The selling point for this place seems to be what they term ‘the terrace’ (glorified way of saying outdoor space contained with some pot plants). I guess people like it particularly in the summer because of this and the pub itself looks over a canal – the view is far from great as the area is heavily residential and canals are hardly renowned for their beauty…Inside the pub there are plenty of seating areas and it all seems nice enough. We were sat outside and ate from the barbeque menu, the food was adequate.

What really defined our visit though was the appalling service, although there were many of them, staff were surly and slow – we were constantly reminded that we had our table for two hours but it took them half an hour just to get our drinks order to us (and wrong as well) and then there was a repeat of this for our food order too, which was disappointing.

In summary, there are plenty of better places in the area to drink and get some good food (without the attitude)!

good pub good grub

The pub in itself is decent and lively. The (limited) tables outdoors offer escape for when the pub gets too packed. There is a Thai restaurant upstairs which is fab – a bit tightly packed but excellent for groups.

Food is tasty – there are of course, the run of the mill ‘thai’ starters but the main courses set this place apart from the bog standard Thai. Staff are pleasant and the prices are reasonable.
