Review of Honey Club
30 May 08, 12:57
Great night out..!
The only nights worth going to the Honey Club are Fridays and Saturdays, the rest of the week it's fairly empty. Honey club is the most popular club in Brighton still, but tend to have a 'younger clubbers' go there. They do have some really good nights on here and host Hat Club and Time, etc... there's been some amazing headlining DJ's there too, you have to make sure you go on one of these nights to make it worth while... they normally have full listings on their website. The venue is great, there are lots of little side rooms with different music and there is a VIP bar and good dance floor... It does cost you a bit, normally £10-£15 entry although they do have drinks promos... saying that if you want to go clubbing it'll cost a fortune where ever you go!

Review of Krisp

Not so sure...
Krisp has some good bits and pieces in it... and I agree with Tara, it's worth a visit if your looking for a party top... however I did think a some of the garments can look and feel fairly cheap... 100% polyester, that sort of thing. saying that, my last visit was over a year ago, so it may have changed since then.

Traditional Mexican!
I really love Mexican restaurants and La Cantina has it all... not only has it got a traditional mexican kitchen it has a great little lounge bar on the first floor with great cocktails (which they do 2 for 1 offers on from time to time!)... there is also a lovely terrace for warmer evenings... definately worth a visit if your into Mexican or great atmostphere and dining !!

Review of Brighton Pier
28 May 08, 13:54
Pier enjoyment!
I often wonder on a sunny day what to do with myself if i fancy something a little different to the beach... well the pier is great for this... it's free to go on, there is plenty to do.. they have arcades, a restaurant, kareoke, deckchairs looking out over the water and respective beaches and those very scary looking rides at the end! also if your peckish and are indecisive like me, they have LOADs of little places for a quick takeaway bite to eat, from chinese, (a great fish and chip restaurant), burgers, crepes, pizza etc... and unbelievably they also cater for weddings!!

Review of Pret A Manger
29 Apr 08, 11:37
Great grub if not a bit expensive
I really do love the food in Pret... they have a fantastic range of salads (try the crayfish and avacado which is delicious) also their sandwiches are very tasty and they are generous with their portions too... the coffee is great and they do soya and decaffinated options for the healthier visitor. One thing that slightly gets my goat is the fact you have to pay extra for eating in... a BLT and bottle of water the other day cost me £4.29 which i thought was a tad expensive!!!

Review of Hennes

Jumble Sale
I can't seem to understand why this H&M is different to all the rest?! Could it be the general chaos and clothes strewn everywhere? The overly loud music, the fact that nothing is in any particular order and that all their stock seems to be the stuff from last season?! Oxford Street H&M have managed to make all their branches look up market, clean and organised... Brighton branch obviously needs a new manager!!

Review of Sky Bar
29 Apr 08, 10:36
Funky and Sophisticated
I have always thought Sky Bar is the place to go for the uber cool trendy Britonians on a Friday and Saturday night out in town... they always have a great mix of DJs and play Funky house and Electro and some commerical stuff too... I have recently heard though that Sky Bar has closed down to be refurbished into a restaurant which I think is a real shame and it was a really fantastic venue for a night out... there are already plently of great places to eat in Brighton!!

Review of All Saints
22 Apr 08, 11:25
Chic and funky
I have really started to love the All Saints brand... you might reconise them by their 'Jesus rocks' belts which were the rage last year!! Their clothing range is really unique and funky and you can pick up some great little numbers in there... I have just bought a beautiful black jumper dress in there for my birthday which I can't wait to wear! They only produce a certain amount of all of their clothing, so once a piece is sold out you won't be able to find it again! The prices are not ridiculous, but enough to make the item feel special...! The Brighton shop in particular is a good size which plently to choose from and the assistants are really helpful... definately worth a look if you like ubercool funky clothing.

Review of Gingerman At Drakes Restaurant
22 Apr 08, 10:55
Ideal for a dinner date or special occasion
I was taken here on a date when I was single and I was very very impressed... We started with a few cocktails in the hotel lounge then were shown downstairs to the resturant... It was a lovely romantic and and ambient atmostphere and beautifully and simpathetically decorated with cream and exposed brick walls and plush cream cushions... The menu is creative but not complicated and the food is full of flavour and really rather beautiful, the portions were small but filling... The staff were attentive but not intrusive and they have fantastic champagne and cocktail menu... I was absolutely blown away, a real must for a special occasion.

Review of Sainsbury's

Sainsburys, try something new...
Now sainsburys really is my favourite supermarket chain... i particularly love their adverts where Jamie Oliver gives you fantastic ideas for dinner... they have now gone one step further and you can pick up a 'try something new' booklet in store which gives you great receipe ideas and top 10 wines and meals for under a fiver... absolute genius!!

Review of Pintxo People

Arrogant staff and over priced food
This place looks great from the outside, but unfortunately once your in sitting down it's a different story... I thought the waiters were all particularly arrogant and look at you incrediously when you ask for a knob of butter for your bread! Their tapas are very expensive at £8 - £14 per dish and the quality of the food does not even make up for the price of it... we have been stupid enough to come to this place twice now, thinking that the first time may have just been a blip but I can assure you its not! A big thumbs down.

Review of Casa Don Carlos
21 Apr 08, 15:25
My favourite place for food...
Wow... this really is my favourite restaurant in Brighton & Hove... it's a really authentic little spanish tapas place nestled in the north laines. Me and my other half went there for Valentines day and had a really fantastic night... the food was absolutely delicious, i particularly recommend the lamb, which just falls of the bone and the gambas al ajillo (garlic prawns) are to die for!!! One little word of warning if your going out after to not eat too much of the alioli which is the strongest I have tasted!!! Also you must pre-book as it is always rammed... this however makes for a great atmostphere when you do get a table... 10 out of 10 for Casa Don Carlos!!
