Review of Chiquito

Long wait for average food
Every time I've been here the experience has always been different. The first time I ate there the service was brilliant but every time after it's only been average and sometimes quite poor.
I haven't had to wait for a table but the service to order and time waiting for the food to be brought to the table, cleared away, etc. has always (bar my first visit) been far too long to wait. Even when the restaurant has been quiet mid-week for lunch I've had to wait a really long time for food.
I also find that the food is never consistent - sometimes it is ok and sometimes it is bad. By bad I mean burnt or very cold or oily. Because I never know what kind of meal I will get here I don't go here anymore except when invited by friends and even then I usually try to excuse myself.

Review of Flight Centre

Would have been good if the assistant listened
I have only been here once with friends and we didn't book anything. The assistant didn't listen to what we were saying and kept trying to sell us 18-30's style holidays on loud, noisy resorts near clubs on resorts like those featured in programmes like "Club Reps" - this was the complete opposite of what we wanted.
All we wanted to do was book a nice, quiet, relaxing beach holiday on a quiet resort but because we were young and there were a few of us interested in going away, they immediately assumed that we wanted a clubbing holiday. Our requests for quiet resorts were ignored and further 18-30's holidays offered to us so we left without being offered anything remotely close to what we were interested in.
The experience has put me off going back to the Flight Centre - I would be too worried about booking something there and ending up in my idea of holiday hell.

Review of Spaghetti House

Long wait for pre-ordered food which was overcooked and burnt.
After a colleague really liked eating here I came for a Xmas lunch with some people and it was thoroughly disappointing. We had to book a table well in advance and also order our 3 course meals in advance - considering the restaurant knew what time we were arriving and exactly what we were going to eat it was very poorly prepared. The restaurant wasn't even that busy and we had to wait a very long time for the food; when it did arrive it was dry and overdone, some burnt. It wasn't that expensive but for the quality of the food and the service I don't think it was worth what we paid.
I would not go back here again - if they can't properly cook and serve on time food that has been ordered well in advance when they are not that busy I don't want to experience a normal service there.

Review of Planet Hollywood

Too pricey, slow service and not much choice on menu
This is so average and only worth going once as a tourist just to say you've been there as the food is too expensive for what it is, not enough choice on menu and nothing special at all. It's loud and the service is slow and I'm just not impressed - a more expensive version of TGI Fridays with ex-movie memorabilia as decorations.

Review of Tinseltown 24 Hour Diner

Amazing milkshakes but everything else could be better
I’ve been here a couple of times for the milkshakes because they are so amazing – flavours include: oreo, twix, toblerone, malteaser, crunchie, mars….. all your favourite chocolates made into milkshakes – heaven!! Everything else could be much better (décor, food, atmosphere) and sadly it is such a hangout for annoying teenagers who love themselves that I often walk in and walk out again rather than put up with them yelling, throwing things and generally making anyone else who wants a nice, quiet and enjoyable time fee very uncomfortable. I haven’t tried the food there so can’t comment on what it is like. Staff also often act like they don’t care and I’m sure a lot of the annoying youngsters there are their friends or family. Parking is also an issue around this area which makes it difficult to visit this place. It has the potential to be as amazing as the milkshakes they serve but sadly everything else makes it a place you don’t want to go unless it is quiet and you are one of the only customers in there.

Review of Royal Lancaster Hotel

Small rooms, breakfast not included & some staff unhelpful
I stayed here for a wedding and the hotel carpark was full, they hadn't reserved any parking spaces for the wedding party. Staff were very rude to us, shouting at us to move on and go to a public car park, when we were trying to unload the car in the bay at the front of the hotel so that we wouldn't have to endure the 20 minute walk from the nearest public car park in our wedding outfits with all our luggage in the pouring rain. At check in they "lost" and "found" our room several times and it took about half an hour, if not longer to check in. A relative who had booked a room for herself, her husband and her 2 children was told that 4 people to a room was not allowed and they would have to put their 2 children in a separate room which would be more expensive than the room already booked - this was eventually sorted out by the father of the groom who painstakingly had to explain why it was unacceptable to expect parents to put 2 children in another room. We were told our room was slightly upgraded and wasn't a standard room but whatever was one up from that - our room was tiny and we would not have been happy had we paid to be upgraded as it seemed like a very standard room - there was nothing to indicate any kind of upgrade. Breakfast was not included in the room rate and was so expensive that we checked out without eating there. Would not stay there again unless the room rate was significantly reduced and breakfast was included in the rate.

Review of Cafe Delight

Gone downhill over the years
This used to be a really nice café but since it changed ownership quite a few years ago (I think around the time Café Anglais extended) it has gone downhill. My first choice of café in this area would be Café Anglais across the road from here, but Café Anglais is so busy and popular we used (note USED) to come to Café Delight if there were no free tables in Café Anglais. The menu hasn’t changed much since it has changed hands but the quality of the food has really gone downhill. You have to wait a while for your food and the food is so greasy and quite often is over or under cooked. Also there used to be a lot of nice people who used to go to this café but now it is full of hoodies making you feel uneasy and uncomfortable. If you are thinking of coming here just cross over the road and go to Café Anglais even if you have to wait for a table there as the food, service and atmosphere is the best.

Review of TGI Fridays

Sent steak back 3 times
I've been to TGI's loads of times and the meals are generally ok. The restaurants are usually annoyingly loud and have always found staff to be either intrusively "friendly" and overenthusiastic in order to get tips or very rude with customer service as the last thing on their mind. For a safe bet, order a burger and do not order steak. I ordered a steak medium rare and it came well done so I sent it back; another was then brought over virtually raw and the third one was cooked properly but I had an after-taste of washing-up liquid in my mouth.... If there is anywhere else to go for food I'd pick that over TGI's and only really go here as a last resort.
