Review of The Southbank Bar

17 May 08, 01:14

Lovin it! 5*

I was a southbank bar virgin until tonight!!!

My friend had convinced me to go there tonight at short noticed so we didnt get there till gone 10pm. It wasn't overly busy when we arrived but still busy enough for there to be a good atmosphere.

The band playing was the Joe Strange Band and although they didnt look much on stage they were electric when they started playing. within a few songs people were up dancing and they covered songs from several eras from david bowie to Amy Winehouse!

I absolutely loved it, drinks were reasonable and you never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes to get served. Highly recommended!

Review of Metro Car Parks

Secure and reasonable! 5*

This car park is often over looked.

Its tucked down one of the side streets behind Victoria Centre and is ideal for shopping trips.

It is really secure with roller shutters at both the entrance and the exit and you can only gain access on foot if you have a ticket to prove your car is in the car park.

Easily accessible by lifts and stairs and is reasonably priced. There is a car washing and valeting service on site which i can highly recommend. And there is a free shuttle bus that links to the Trent FM Arena Nottingham so it's brilliant for parking if you are attending an event there.

Review of Drayton Manor Park

Thomas Land was worth the money alone! 5*

I have a 19 monh old son who was feeling a little under the weather, I took him to Drayton Manor which was easy to find and easy to park. It was £14 for an adult and a toddler. Thomas Land is new for 2008 and is superb, all of the rides are aimed at toddlers and young children and they are all Thomas the Tank Engine character themed. My son was spell bound, you can take a ride to the zoo on Thomas, Annie and Clarabel, fly in harold the helicopter, there is also an indoor thomas themed play area and whilst we were there the fat controller was taking a stroll around the park and stopping to talk to all of the children, he was very convincing!

The only down side is that the cafe and under cover eating area just aren't big enough, it rained the day we visited and 4 pushchairs filled the place!

Take a picnic and go in summer is was fab!

Review of Inn Dragon

The best chinese in the world ever! 5*

This chinese is a superb family run restaurant. It is very modern inside and has a light and airy feel.

They do take away, delivery or a fantastic eat-in menu.

They do a mid-week lunch time deal that is very reasonably priced and you get tons for your money! I can recommend the lemon chicken and the noodles!

Review of Willow Tree

18 Apr 08, 08:38

A Fantastic friendly pub 5*

The Willow Tree pub is part of the Ember Inns chain. It has just received a three star cask mark award for the quality of its ales. The pub serves food from 12 noon until 9pm and the menu is a good mix of traditional pub food and slightly more exotic dishes. Grill night is on a Tues where you can buy a steak and a pint for around six quid and Thursday night is curry night. The deal is the same, curry and a pint for about £6 but the curry's are superb and aren't your usual microwaved rubbish there is a large choice of curries too.

The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the bar staff are approachable and helpful and there is a large following of regulars so it must be good.
