Review of Sugar

Quite hip for leam
This is quite a small club, there's always a queue but that makes it feel quite exclusive. The main room is upstairs on the first floor, there are booths with illuminated tables, a giant egg just the right size for 2! tables at the back and a reasonable sized dance floor that is always heaving.

Review of Rio's Nightclub

Rough!
I must admit that I've never actually been to Rios but it has a terrible reputation for both the club itself and the people who go there (think old and desperate)

Review of The White Horse

Transformation!
When I lived in Leam this was a rough and run down old school pub but on a recent visit to the town I found it had been transformed. A really cosy and intimate atmosphere, roaring log fire, great selection of drinks and nibbles. Menu was good but food was a bit disappointing. They also have a selection of board games you can borrow if you get board of talking to your mates.

Review of Bar 44

Sophisticateed Dining
Bar 44 is a pretty sophisticated place, it’s a bit lacking in character but the food is really nice and it’s a good place for a date or a celebratory dinner.

Review of Ocean Bar & Restaurant
24 Apr 08, 13:08
Budget
Ocean bar feels a bit dirty, upstairs from street level with a slightly ‘Changing Rooms’ feel to the décor. It serves huge cocktails in fishbowls which is quite novel but if you’re over 21 it’s a bit budget.

Review of The Willoughby

Party Plub
The Willoughby is a drinker’s pub, it’s quite loud and I imagine a lot of people go there on the pull. There is a great balcony upstairs that faces out onto the street which is great if you’re feeling a bit stifled by the party inside.

Review of Sozzled Sausage
24 Apr 08, 13:06
Great!
This is a great pub / restaurant. It has a lovely feel to it, light and relaxed with seating inside the main building and in a conservatory at the back. Sausage and mash is becoming more popular on our high streets with brands such as The Pie Shop but the sozzeled sausage is the original and best.

Review of The Lounge
24 Apr 08, 13:05
Disappointing.
The Lounge looks very nice from the outside but inside it’s a bit uninspiring. They could have made more of their prime high street location. Not a great atmosphere and the service wasn’t great when I was there.

Review of The Slug & Lettuce

Go for lunch
The Slug and Lettuce in Leam is one of the best examples of the chain. Large windows flood the place with light in the day which makes it a good choice for lunch.

Review of Toyk Cafe

Tres Chic
Toyk is a very hip little café, perfect for ladies (and students!) who lunch. They serve a selection of sandwiches and homemade biscuits. It’s quite small so gets very busy at peak times. A great place to catch up with friends or have some quiet time with a newspaper.

Review of Oriental Star
24 Apr 08, 12:59
Great Value!
The oriental star is a great all you can eat buffet, it’s no frills good value so popular with students. The daytime buffet is approximately £5, going up to a £10 after 5pm when they bring out the crispy duck. They also have a takeaway service allowing you to fill up a Tupperware from the buffet with all your favourites, this is probably the best option as it’s only about £5 and you can fit more than enough in the box.

Review of Rhubarb Rhubarb

Food poisoning.
In a lot of ways this place is really really nice. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere is great, warm, exotic and romantic. The menu is expensive so I went there as a bit of a treat, I had the steak and it made me so ill! Very disappointing as it's such a nice place and it was so expensive!

Review of Ben's Cookies
16 Apr 08, 12:58
BEST cookies in the WORLD
These are the best cookies in the whole world. They are about £1 each but completely worth it. They are all made on site so are normally still warm in the middle. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, really rich in flavour a great treat. only downside is it's a small place so there's not much seating.
