Review of Cafe Giardino

Over priced swill
I had lunch here at the weekend and it made me really angry!! I ordered 2 prawn baguettes, 2 drinks and a packet of crisps and it came to nearly £15, not that unusal in todays cafe culture but the standard was awful!! The bread was soft like a roll, not a crunchy baguette. The prawns were TINY and tasteless, the marie rose sauce was watered down so much it turned my stomach. Even the bottled water wasn't very nice and my friend had an iced coffee, no sweet frappachino here, literally cold, bitter coffee. I don't care if the parking is free, get yourself out of this dated hole and go to the bullring!

Review of Pimento Tea Rooms

Quaint
Pimento is a bit middle aged, expensive middle aged lady clothes but they also have nice jewellery that’s quite unique and reasonably priced. The café / shop combo is a quaint idea. Take your mum she will love it.

Review of Chocolate Soup
29 Apr 08, 10:45
AMAZING!
I have a very sweet tooth and chocolate soup is a match for even the most hardcore chocoholic. The hot chocolate isn't made from second rate powder, oh no! huge vats of molten chocolate are spooned into generous mugs and mixed with hot milk. It is the best hot chocolate I have ever had. They offer a range of toppings from traditional marshmallows to aero pieces and cookies. I am just disappointed it's not a chain so I can't get them in Birmingham. Although that's probably a good thing, I'd be the size of a house!

Review of Toyk Cafe

Tres Chic
Toyk is a very hip little café, perfect for ladies (and students!) who lunch. They serve a selection of sandwiches and homemade biscuits. It’s quite small so gets very busy at peak times. A great place to catch up with friends or have some quiet time with a newspaper.

Review of Baguette Du Monde
21 Apr 08, 15:57
Average
Baguette du Monde is an ok lunch choice, food is pretty good value and they have meal deal options but it’s a little bit bland. They claim to offer Panini’s but these are really just toasted baguettes which just isn’t the same! The salad bar is worth a look as quality and variety seems to vary day to day. The best option in my opinion is to go for a jacket potato.

Review of Eat

Tasty Treat
Eat in Brindley place is a great lunchtime choice. They have a large selection of sandwiches, baguettes, soups and salads. The soup is particularly exceptional but all the produce is of a high quality. Certain items are labelled as ‘less than 55 fat’ but other than that labelling is poor, you can check nutritional information on their website, which I recommend as the baguettes and toasties are LOADED. There is plenty of seating, although be warned you are charged more to eat in.

Review of Ben's Cookies

BEST cookies in the WORLD
These are the best cookies in the whole world. They are about £1 each but completely worth it. They are all made on site so are normally still warm in the middle. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, really rich in flavour a great treat. only downside is it's a small place so there's not much seating.
