Review of Frankie & Bennys

Why would you eat here?
I have been to a couple of examples of this chain and it really is bad! It's obvious none of the food is fresh, but you would think that would make it idiot proof to prepare, but no! The food is overpriced and unpleasant, the decor is bland, there is no atmosphere. To add insult to injury this branch is in the middle of nowhere next to a dual carriage way. One assumes they rely on trade from a nearby hotel, why else would anyone go here?

Review of The Newbold Bar & Brasserie

Lovely Grub
The Newbold’s gastro pub style is probably a bit passé now but the food is really good. Upstairs from the main bar they have a more formal restaurant; I don’t think you’d be disappointed if you’re other half booked it for a date.

Review of China Garden Buffet Restaurant

Now Rejoice of Spice
This is now an indian restaurant and I must admit I've not been, however I felt the need to review as it has changed it's name about four times in the short time I have lived in the area (about 2 yrs) the chins garden was good but they have stedily declined in quality since then so I won't be risking this!

Review of Strada Restaurant

All Style no substance
This restaurant has a lovely location next to the canal and is spacious and stylish inside but the food is below par. As it's a chain prices are reasonable and you don't expect things to be gourmet but I think pizza express is much better.

Review of Lafibule Moroccan Restaurant

Something a bit different
If you're fed up of the usual indian, italian or chinese try this Moroccan restaurant out. It's got an authentic theme to the decor and it's just the right size, not to big not too small. There is a good choice of mains and starters the food isn't as spicy as indian or chinese but it's still very tasty. It's bring your own booze which is always a bonus. The dessert menu is a little lacking, the 'morrocan pastries' used to be genuine baklava but they are now a bit rubbish. Service is ok. I was given a finger bowl as I had ordered prawns and the water was straight out the kettle and I burned my fingers so watch out! Apart from that, a good choice.

Review of Sabai - Sabai

The Best Restaurant in Birmingham!
This is my favourite restaurant in the city. I love thai food so have sampled lots of it in various restaurants and this is the best I've tasted. It's teeny tiny so I would recommend that you book in advance. The decor is a little odd with a large graffiti style mural on the wall but the atmosphere is great as it's intimate and candle lit. My recommendation is garlic and pepper mussels followed by king prawn red curry (the king prawns are HUGE) service is friendly.
