Review of First Choice Dry Cleaning

First Class Cleaning 5*

This is a specialist dry cleaning service (they do all Amanda Wakeley and Christiana Couture stuff). It is expensive but you can really trust them to do a beautiful job. I recently had 3 identical Amanda Wakeley dresses cleaned and pressed and the service was amazing. The lovely Eddie even picked them up from Harvey Nichols for me and dropped them off at my house afterwards. 10 points. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Review of Hotel Chocolat

Lots of lovely choc o lat 4*

This is fashionable chocolate. High in cocoa content and beautifully made, beautifully packaged, they even give out freebies in the shop. Check out the chocolate slabs , large slabs of chocolate with fruits embedded into them , breathtaking. At the back of the shop they have small packs of truffles, and there's usually some sort of 3 for 2 deal which makes them really quite cheap, cute gifts. And it encourages you to try some of the weirder, experimental recipes.

Pefect Pub Lunch 5*

This is an adorable pub hidden down a mews street in Knightsbridge. Great for low key business lunches, or early weeknight suppers. Book tables, especially in the week because it is terribly popular. The menu is simple and delicious. I really, really like this place. Snuggly in the winter, light and airy in the summer. My only criticism is that there is only one female loo, which is tiny and means you have to stand and cue outside by the bar for what feels like ages. Especially if you've been knocking back the spritzers all afternoon.

Review of Fernandez and Wells

Deli-cious 4*

This is a lovely new deli (it opened just three weeks ago), tucked away on Lexington Street. The huge glass window frames beautiful cured hams and cheeses, while - once you step inside - there is row upon row of incredible sandwiches, Poilane bread (the best in the world) is available to buy daily - this must be one of the few retailers other than Selfridges. There is also a handful of high-quality condiments to choose from. This place has a great look and great produce to back it up. Go there, and give this place the business it so obviously deserves.

Review of Snappy Snaps

Snappy indeed 4*

This is perhaps the smallest photo developers shop in the whole world. It is teeny. But, the staff are really informative and the range of services they offer are surprisingly broad given the limited space! Good, reliable one hour service

Serious Art 5*

This is one of London's most serious auction houses. They hold major sales, frequently and the best thing about this gaff from a tourist perspective (sadly I am not a big player in terms of bidding at famous sales) is that the windows are always full of wonderful treats , for example, at the moment, what a privilege to be able to gaze at a Frances Bacon from the pavement?

Review of The Beauchamp

Average pub, knightsbridge 1*

This is an OK pub in a difficult area. In the summer, it's a great spot if you can get a table on the street and watch the celebs trotting in and out of san lorenzo (opposite) but inside it's pretty grotty. Usually full of dodgy businessmen with leary eyes. The food is truly horrible. Old School Pub Grub of the nastiest sort. But if you nab one of those street tables and order yourself a G&T it's pleasant enough.

Review of Waitrose

Rare, big central supermarket 5*

This is probably the biggest supermarket in the area, vast in comparison to all the express and metro stores around. It is refreshing to be in a London supermarket that actually has a fruit and vegetable section. Big wine department. Good deli section. Fish Counter. Bakery. The works. You do see some definite "types" in this Waitrose, so it's quite good for people watching as well.

Review of Paxtons Head

Split Personality Venue 3*

This is quite a dingy, smoky pub with a really lovely pan asian fusion restaurant upstairs. The pub is pretty miserable, but always busy and upstairs the food is delicious and served quickly (good for lunch) by efficient, friendly staff.

Curry in a hurry 4*

This is curry at its finest , go for the meal options which are huge and delicious , a couple of curries, samosas, chicken tikka with salad, poppadoms. All of it is made from organic ingredients where possible, fresh to order, and the vegetarian options don't use ghee, so they're suitable for vegans too. Delicious, whether you're having hangover food, or enjoying a quiet night in. Plus delivery time is usually only 30 mins.
