Review of King Charles Tavern

Lovely food at this friendly pub!
The King Charles Tavern is tucked away in Cheap Street in Newbury and is recommended by me because of its massive menu, all of which is home cooked, good sized portions, fresh and just simply delicious! Definitely gets the thumbs up from me! There is also a quiz night on Mondays which is good fun. No pub garden but otherwise all is good!

Review of Northcroft Leisure Centre

Excellent in every way!
Northcroft gym is a complete success in every way. The gym is large and never crowded and has all the latest equipment, the classes are varied and run by very enthusiastic coaches. Northcroft has two swimming pools, an inside one and an outside massive one which is open in the summer months. There is also a small pool for children. Squash courts and a sauna as well as a large sports hall for badminton, trampoling etc. are all equally fab! There is also a soft indoor play area which children love. In addition, there is a cafe and bar ...
And more to the point, it is an absolute bargain!

An excellent bathroom fitter who pays real attention to detail.
You will be very satisfied with work carried out even if it takes a while to get a quote!

Review of Sun In The Wood

The perfect family pub
Tucked away in the countryside close to Thatcham, can be found the idyllic public house, The Sun In The Wood.
This fine independently run pub is the perfect choice for a family but is also very appealing to couples and friends alike.
The menu is extensive and sourced from local farmers wherever possible, even to the extent of having local ice cream on the dessert list! The food is served in good portions, and the puddings are wonderful, definitely a cut above the average pub pud! Coffee and complimentary homemade chocolate truffles finish an always wonderful dining experience.
I would also recommend the strawberry summer spritzer ... a fantastic combination of rose wine, strawberries and mixer - perfect on a summer's evening, but thankfully served throughout the year because it is so delicious!
Furthermore, The Sun In The Woods boasts a large car park, play area with slides to keep the little ones entertained, as well as a crazy golf course; perfect for burning off part of that pudding after dinner!
Service is friendly and superb and the facilities are clean.
Overall, a wonderful pub which is worth going out of your way to visit.
