Review of The Bull and Gate

Bull and Gate
Our usual place to pop in and have a cool down beer after a gig ant the Kentish Town Forum. Usually busy at this time but beat attempting the tube with thousands of others. The beers not that great but will do for a quick one.

Out of all their stores this my favourite. A great range and the staff are always helpful. Good to pop out to in your lunch break.

Organic restaurant and bar in an attractive Mews surrounded by design studios and galleries, this is a pleasant but expensive restaurant. Really nice in the summer when you can set out on the cobbled street in conservatory style garden furniture and enjoy a bottle of wine. Best to reserve a table as this place can get busy. There is a piano and jazz night on Tues.

Review of The Kings Head

The Kings Head
One of the most famous features of Upper street is this fantastic pub theatre. Its was built in the 19th Century and still has many original features such as gas lamps and a old till that needs to be cranked to work! Great place to see plays being previewed and a good place to spot the Uk's finest. Patron of this establishment is Joanna Lumley and presidents include Victoria Wood and Maureen Lipmann. There is always live music after every performance.

Review of Masala Zone

Masala Zone
One of a chain of modern Indian fusion restaurants. Has a nice menu and nice atmosphere. There is also a small amount of outside sitting which is great in summer but can be awkward as they operate a Share table policy. Recommend a large thali to share to keep costs down and a Masala coke.

Review of Salusbury Foodstore

Salusbury Foodstore
Organic deli and pizzeria. This appears from the front and the initial front of the shop to be a fairly traditional deli with cheese counter, sausage and other uncooked and cured meats. There is also a small selection of seasonal vegetables all organic and Italian style groceries. Towards the back of the shop there is a pizza counter selling take-away slices but you can also eat in. In winter there are usually two types of soup one vegetarian and one meat. My favorite is chorizo and black bean.

Ok pub on the main strip. Does have a beer garden which is a bonus in the summer although its not that pleasant. Better pubs across the street, lacking in character.

Ok pub in the centre of London. Average staff and drinks in slightly dated but not really traditional looking room. Live music on offer sometimes downstairs in the function room. Ok to pop it to mut not that great.

Steam Passage
One of the more comfortable pubs down this end. Feels less like a chain pub now that it has recently been done up. Food not great usual pub menu potato skins and burgers.

Review of Londis

Londis super market and post office
Over priced local supermarket but it's around the corner so useful sometimes. The staff are cold and I try to aviod but needs must at times. Post office has limited opening hours but this is not unusual.
