Review of Oyster Shack

lovely seafood...
This is a relatively new restaurant in Salcombe, it is situated away from the "high street" of Salcombe and is in the new building by the boat workshops. The place has a lovely view (at high tide) overlooking the estuary. There is also a decking area which is a perfect place to dine in the summer. The decor inside is very modern with a nautical twist. Ambient lighting changes colour whilst you enjoy your meal. As for the food it is very good, maybe not the best in town (see Dusters review) but still yummy. If you dont like sea food though then dont come here as I'm pretty sure theres no alternative on the menu. There are always lots of specials on offer at the Oyster Shack too so make sure you find out what they are. I can recommend the scallops which were beautifully cooked. Oh and the creme brulee was lovely too. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The prices are quite reasonable. This is a good place to eat and the surroundings make it a nice modern change to the rest of Salcombe.
