great photography...
Explosures gallery opened in 2001 and offers a great photography service in and around Salcombe. They are well known for their black and white family shots and also specialise in marine photography. The gallery and shop is always changing showing pictures from recent marine events in salcombe to aerial scenes. They also show exhibitions of local photographers. Explosures does all sorts of events and is the best place to come if you want a great picture of your stay in salcombe or for an upcoming family event. All the photos are developed in their own darkroom. During high season staff members will often visit the beaches and take the opportunity to get some lovely pictures of families enjoying themselves. You can them come to the shop and view these pictures and purchase them. Prices vary on size and style. For example black and white pictures range from £5 to a £50 20x16 image. This is a good shop that offers a great service

Review of Brownston Gallery

contemporary in the country...
The Brownston Gallery opened its doors as Devon's newest and most exciting contemporary art gallery in 2006. The gallery offers contemporary paintings and other artwork for sale by leading local, regional, national and international artists. They aim to show high quality, bold original paintings and work in all media. The gallery holds several different exhibitons throughout the year. What is particularly nice about this gallery is the attention it gives to local artists. One artist that they show regularly is Yvonne Coomber whos bold paintings are absolutely stunning. The Brownston Gallery also has a beautiful range of designer jewellery, thus making it a great place to look for a gift for a special someone. This gallery is a little gem in the small country town of Modbury and is definetly worth spending some time wandering around and taking in what they have to offer. It is a pleasant change to see somewhere modern and new amongst the same old antique shops that over-run the area.
