Review of Asda Stores

appreciate what u got 5*

If you live in a town with an Asda, you really wont appreciate how lucky you are. The choice where I live is luxury food shopping in Sainsbury or close to luxury food shopping in Tesco. I regulary travel the 60 miles to Taunton to experience the wonders of Asda. The own brand food is unbeatable, the clothes are excellent value and at the season times ( halloween, xmas, easter etc) they have ranges of exclusives that you cant get anywhere else.

Review of Drake Circus Shopping Centre

31 May 08, 00:23

another shopping centre! 3*

I have mixed feelings about this place, on the one hand its shiny and new and looks stunning, on the other hand theres nothing really new about whats inside ... same old same old, usual high street names. My only worry is that it doesnt drain the life out of Plymouth's shopping heart.

2 hour drive 5*

from where i live it is a 2 hour drive to get to this amazing place. We had heasrd that it was pricey so made it the main focus of our trip. Pricey, no. Id say below average on price when compared to Lego land or London Dungeons or Madame Tousauds. You get what you pay for, and this is real value for money. Get up close and personal with the sharks, the fish tunnel is amazing ( although I did feel quite dizzy) and the kids get to "play" inside the tanks. Stop moaning about the price, its a great day out fer fish sake!!

Review of Starbucks

£ for $ 4*

I first sampled Starbucks in the States and regularly used them for coffee on the go. Now that they are spreading out of London, its a real treat to visit any branch. My only gripe is that the $ in the states is translated into £ in the UK. So a latte at $3.50 ( £1.75) is actually costing £3.50 over here. Its a shame that the Americans love of Cinnammon hasnt come to the UK Starbucks. This branch is great beacuse of the staff ... great Plymuff accents .. asking what Miwk you want in your larrtay.

Review of Theatre Royal Plymouth

new look 4*

So much better now that the place has has a face lift - thats probably the reason why so many BIG names come here now. Its sort of become a testing ground for acts to try new material, before taking the show on the road. Saw this with Lee Evans who appeared here, tried the new act, then toured the rest of the country 6 months later.

Review of Pizza Hut

Chain Reaction 3*

Unfortunately with Pizza Hut, they are a chain who have lost direction. At one time THE place for Pizza, now this branch is looking old and un cared for. The tell tale sign ( no pun) is the red lighting strip around the roof, which sadly is mostly broken.

Its mass produced food, supposedly "fast", but sadly lacking in speed, the staff excell, but this place is normally under staffed as the wait times are horrendous.

AS Expected ... because that always the way with Pizza Hut.

Review of Guildhall Shopping Centre

Best Mix 3*

A trip to Exeter starts off with a visit to this shopping centre, then you move on to the rest of the shops!

I love the fact that ( unlike Princesshay) there is a great mix of Nation shops and individual, locally owned shops.

I cant remember the name, but half way down the left side, is a local jewellers who make cut price jewellry on the premesis.

Review of Diggerland Theme Parks

30 May 08, 22:22

one visit 1*

only went to Digger land once and that was about 6 years ago. To be honest i wouldnt go back.

Firstly you pay to get in. You get £10 worth of "tokens" to spend inside.

Each ride \\ event \\ skill game costs you 3 tokens. So a family of 4 immediataly has to buy more tokens for every one to have a go on one thing ,,, bit of a rip off.

The plus , is that its a great idea. You get to be a kid again, the kids loved it ... but make sure you take PLENTY of money, the entrance fee hardly covers anything.

Ch ch ch changes 4*

I often stopp of here when on my way back home from up country. Just off the M5, jn 27. Great place to pop in to for a bite and a pint. Used to be THE place to go when I was a teenager, as they have a huge function room which used to be the best disco in town.

Great value food and great surroundings too.

Review of Cotton Traders

30 May 08, 13:58

why would you .. 3*

if you have ever visited clarkes village, you soon realise that its well worth NOT buying from the regular high street branches of these shops. Cotton Traders is fab, all you would find in the regular high street shops, BUT a fraction of the price. For the elder man really, my dad loves it and there's always a carrier bag with Polo shirts, slacks and sensible shirts in the car when we leave.
