Review of Bickington General Stores & Post Office

great post office
this shop is the hub of this village community. A great place for those "bits" you forgot to get from Tesco. A bit over priced and a bit basic, but its here for the locals and is survivng. The post office is essential and apart from Car Tax and Passport Forms, they do everything the main post office in Bple does. Long live the village shop.

The obvious choice
this is the pub thats right on the main road, Cant miss it, big black n white place with people outside. Really good menu, always some pub special on food wise. Great for Pool ,Darts and a great jukebox. Also has quiet secluded areas for those intimate moments. Long bar that can sometimes be understaffed when really busy ... but hey, you're in Devon now.

dont be fooled
dont be fooled that this place looks like someones house from the out side. this is a warn friendly village local. nothing fancy, plain , simple, good pub grub. a killer sunday roast ( but get there early else you'll be disappointed), great barstaff who actually own the place and have a pride that is rare to find. Parking is a nightmare and you have to park further into the village ( 600 yards or so) away.

hidden treasure
this place is so damn hard to find. once i did i ended up spending a fortune on really good quality but cheap plants.did the whole front and back garden in plants , shrubs and fruit bushes. even picked my own strawberries! now i know where they are, ive been back several times. well worth searching out. they are on the old Barnstaple Road.

not really toys
these guys build and supply out door "toys". they'll build you a fort for the garden, a tree house, slides, whatever you want. a friend had a castle built by them and it was awesome! real craftmenship and for that specialist servive you pay a specialist price. well worth a visit just to see what they have.

Nice Guy
this fella is the Gentle Giant of the motor trade. He's my main man when it comes to repairs and servicing my car. He sorta knows my limit when it comes to doing the work and always checks before spending my money. wouldnt occur to him to rip anyone off. would recommend him every time.

unusual
I always stop off here and take a peek cos u never know what you'll see in the forecourt. Ive seen vintage American cars, shiney new Sports cars and even the odd reliant Robin. Last week there was a big American Hummer! Never ventured in to ask any prices tho!

Not Just A Convenience Store
I regularly use this village shop not only for its wide range of everyday groceries, but also for the wide range Post Office services, the staff are incredibly friendly and knowlegable of all the sevices the PO has to offer. a local PO right on my doorstep means less trips into the town centre saving me money and saving the enviroment.
