Review of Moss Pharmacy

you cant beat it
local chemists are great, you can have a private chat with the Pharmacist who is normally as knowledgeable as the doctor! These guys are 2nd to none and I dread the fact that this place is soon to become another Boots.

Review of Costcutter
22 Apr 08, 12:38
costcutters is costcutters
Its a Costcutters, its open till 10pm most nights. The staff are mostly kids themselves so lack any form to customer service. It has a small bakery dept for those throw in an oven pies and pasties, pretty extensve off licence, post office service. Ok as a convenience store but never seem to be able to pull a whole meal together. All a bit frozen and packetted for me.

Review of Mcbain Refrigeration

sales and service
not sure if this is a local company or a national .. but they certainly behave like a family run business. I needed them to come and repair a tumble dryer that Id bought from Currys, they were there next day and away in an hour. Good service, good prices and they do sales too. so next time ... stuff Currys

Review of Han Court Chinese Restaurant
22 Apr 08, 12:26
Worth the Drive
well worth travelling to from anywhere in the UK! This has got to be one of the noumber one Chineese in the UK. All the food is freshly cooked, so be prepared for a wait at busy periods. Make sure you have the shredded beef (spicey but amazing). If you're in the mood for a takeaway, they do a great service too. Beware tho, this place aint cheap, you will pay over the odds, but hell, its well worth it

Review of The Quay Cafe

Home made soup!
this place is a welcome stop off along the Tarka trail. Home made soup, extravegent cakes, over generous portions and hot chocolate to die for ... hell, forget the tarka trail bit, just go there for a snack in the car, theres plenty of parking. Its on Fremington Quay, just look out for the brown tourist signs

Review of Robins Windows

Hes Ur Man
This guy is fast reliable trustworthy and a hard grafter. There's a huge number of Door and Window people in this area but I recommend Robin every time. He might be a bit busy, but well worth the wait. He also is a builder and has a plumer, carpenter, roofer and sparky on his team too ... so, not just a door man!

Review of Londis
11 Apr 08, 20:03
you decide
ok so theres a choice of 2 convenience stores in this small village LONDIS or COSTCUTTERS - the latter holds the Post Office. They are pretty much of a muchness. Londis is under new management and in chaos, Costcutter staff are at best grumpy at worst down right rude. Might be worth jumping in the car and driving into Barnstaple to get ur shopping - I do!

Review of Bike Trail Cycle Hire
11 Apr 08, 19:59
the healthy way
the healthy way to see North Devon is by bike! The Tarka trail was specially constructed to run around the whole of the N Devon coast. Although walking it IS an option, going by bike is so much more pleasurable. There are many bike hire facilities along the trail, but remember the bikes have to be returned to the same hire shop you got them from.!

Review of Graylings Fish & Chips
11 Apr 08, 19:55
a fish shop
everything cooked fresh to order. this award winning fish n chip shop prides its self in cooking everything as it is ordered ... and that doesnt mean youre hanging around for ages while it cooks. even if its really busy the wait is minimal. look out for the daily specials as theres usually some unusual locally caught fresh fish on the menu. this is take away only!!
