one man band
one man, one treasured craft and a delight to watch. this guy makes chairs. he creates masterpieces by hand. a true craftsman. items made to order and a small selection to choose from the factory shop\\ floor. Arts like this are slowly disappearing from our villages.

Unexpected
You will find this place hard to find! But once you have you will be delighted. Just out side the village on the way to Stoke. I bought my wife and he sister a day session here. well worth the money for someone specials special gift. Pampering Heaven is the way she described it. Massage, facials, sauna, steam, swimming, aroma therapy, stone therapy . All very quiet and secluded.

Surprise surprise
OK, so if you are wanting stationery, then do not think this is going to be a small branch of staples. It is basically a local printer who stocks your basic stationery essentials. want paper .. they have paper. want felt tip pens ... they have them ... Want a canon Ink Jet Printer Cartridge CN12763 \\\\ Col ... no ( but they can get you one for next day delivery)

all you need
yep, all yopu could want from a small village bakery. The smell fo freshly baked bread hits you from about 5am! Tempted by the smell, you will soon have stocked up on freshly baked, break , cakes and fancies. If you're off exploring the area, they do freshly made sandwiches too!

Need a trip
This part of the Herds Garage is the Holiday Bus trip bit .. always off somewhere. Local drivers, local and national destinations. One day trips or coach holidays. Best give them a ring or check out one of the local papers for trip details. I went to Blackpool to see the lights with them and it was great to just sit back, relax and enjoy. Great little local company.

No Petrol
Sadly the big boys made selling petrol at this garage an impossibility. However, this repair garage has been in HArtland for ever. Like all small village garages, theres a couple of guys in greasy overalls , looking like something from out of the Addams family - lol. They know their stuff, from cars to farm vehicles, boat engines to steam engines (ok I have no proof of the last one) . Local garage, local staff .. local prices .. OUCH!

ARHHHH its NOT Bideford
This place is in Hartland NOT bidefoprd as it says here. Great place for a party and has a very nice separate function room so ideal for smaller wedding receptions etc. The bar is in one area with the function room next to it. The staff are fun and friendly, just what you need in a village pub
