at that point in ur life when its time to take stock, it was great to find that these guys do it all as far as money is concerned.

They helped me with obtaining a morgage, life insurance to cover the morgage and job insurance in case it all goes wrong.

a lovely treasure trove!

what a lovely shop. you'll be certain to find presents for everyone in here. No matter what it is you are after, souvenirs or a nice unique gift, this is THE place. For a special gift in fine crystal , or an animal sculpture, or just a small "thank you", the place has toys for young and not so young, so you really dont need to shop around!

Golf galore

Englands oldest golf club is open to members and also visitors to the area as well. They have just opened a new short par three course.

The clubhouse has a lounge bar, dining room, museum room and the usual golfing amenities.

Westard Ho ! not Bideford.

Yep its in Westward Ho! not Biddypit. Only been there once and that was because my daughter had heard that they offer a hair extension service. A very friendly and professional salon - nice ladies! Daughter was impressed with the L'Oreal products and the GHD accessories. Good prices too ..... ... whatever happened to " short back and sides?"

Westward Ho!

this is a perfect base for a holiday, centrally located in the seaside village of Westward Ho! - dont forget the ! it's important). This park has its own privat access to the glorious local beach, which makes it a bit more exclusive than the rest. Westward Ho! its self is a great location with easy access to Bideford, Barnstaple and Bude.

Not JUST a holiday park.

We have stayed here a couple of times now and found it to be a place we would recommend. Locally there are miles of safe sandy beaches and has a wide range of activities for the whole family. In the heart of the North Devon countryside, this is a peaceful , tranquil place.

When my Nan became ill, I was horrified to find out that she was in a home - you imagine all sorts of bad things.

Upon my first visit, my fears were put at easy. I found the staff to be incredibly friendly..there was nothing they wouldnt do to make my nans last days comfortable. I would highly reccommend this as a place of peace and dignity

anyone for a quickie?

probably not had a clean since it was built .. ok thats harsh, no end of cleaning can make up for the shoddy state of the interior. A lick of paint would be a start. A bit of a pub crawl pub, always pop in for a quickie then move on to some where else.

Go On Have A Go

No matter if you have fished all your life or the sum extent of ur fishing ability is a net in a rock pool, these guys will give you the best advice in North Devon. The huge store and even bigger selection for fishing gear, that in its self can be overhealming. I found its best to have a chat with the guys in there and they will point you right. If you have never fished before, have a go. Its fun .

Been around for ages

This is a real family business. Been around for years and survived the ravages of the supermarkets. Talk about fresh, the burgers moo as they go in the bag. If youve never had real Faggots try these, they are made on the premesis. Hogs pudding, sausages, scotch eggs ALL made on the premesis. It'll be a sad day when this piece of history disappears.

Good Old Gossip

This place must infuriate visitors to hell... the lovely ladies in the shop love a chat and a natter. Basically just a bakers, but always smells like heaven with freshly baked bread . You get all the usual cakes and pastries along with freshly baked Scones. I think they actually do cream and jam too ..... hmm Devonshore Cream Tea!

Tacky and Fab

I love this sort of shop .. every sea side has them! Kiss Me Slowly hats, inflatable rubber rings, saucy postcards and an aladins cave of gifts that you just know will never be used or appreciated - lets face it, you buy them so that it appears you made a modicome of effort . They do do a really nice packed fudge range " thanks for looking after my ......." range.

Slots of Fun - ok Ive used that one before

Amusement arcades are ten a penny - no pun intended. However, even tho I have no chance of winning the "grab a toy" toy and never ever want to play in the live BINGO that happens all day every day .. I still love this place. A bag of 2p pieces and the 2p cascade game will keep me off the streets for hours ... Its the sea side, its all about the slots.

Theres better

Sorry but this place really does need an over haul. Its dirty, tired and run down ... for goodness sake, change the carpet if nothing else. The state of the building lets the place down and really doesnt make you wanna buy anything from the fast food extention. even if the smell of do nuts and chips is tempting. As for the amusements ... hmmm, they need replacing as well.

One of the few places in North Devon that I'd take someone special for a special meal. Not over priced, but not a cheap place. A fabulous menu you really wont be able to choose . more than ur basic food. Dont over do the starters and main course. Wait till you see the sweet trolly .. bet it will take ages to decide what the heck to have.

Fish n Chips

Yer basic fish and chip take away and if the weathers nice, you can sit at the fron of the shop and eat outside in the garden. This is a cash only shop so dont expect to pay with a credit or debit card. The fish is to die for and the chips are real chips, freshly cut from potatoes!

Ha my sentiments

Hey Dave L picned my name for this place ... cal it a Greasy Spoon and you not far off. Think back to the 70s with greasy motorway cafes, well this place is just like that, but actually its not really greasy ... just looks like it should be. Basic fish n chips, pies and pasties, Have a battered sausage, freshly cooked chips and some mushy peas .... and a huge MUG of tes.

Love It

I have no idea why this place is called the Pig On The Hill .. but it does play on the name by having loads of pigs inside - and thats not JUST the locals! You get basic pub grub here, a really nice place to have a gathering but its huge bar can be a bit too big for smaller parties.
