Review of Exmoor Teddy Bear Co
29 May 08, 20:01
really nice
remember when teddies had character and were individual and had their own personalities ... well the Bear is back! This is a gorgeous shop - only tiny - but stuffed with real bears - not the stuff Woolies sell at Christmas. Deffo the place to go to to get a Bear that will be loved and cherished for years and years to come.

Review of Sizes

good name for a shop
what a brilliant name for this shop. It really does cater for ALL sizes. We managed to get clothes in here for my size 8 wife ( a couple of blouses for work, some jeans and some light summer tops ) BUT we also managed to get my mother in law a birthday present. Quite a smart slacks and jacket set in a size that would fit ur average sumo wrestler. Great staff , a real laugh. Even said we could bring the suit set back if it was wrong - that was re assuring

Review of QS Familywear Clothing Retailer Branches
29 May 08, 19:52
one of few
one of a few big names in town. QS renowned for cheap clothes that will last a season, then u throw them away and had good use out of them. With Butlins round the corner, I bet this place does a bomb with its good prices and good quality. Staff are a bit dis interested, but I guess thats a seaside trait.

JUMBLE SALE
like a huge emporium of clothes .. mostly cheap and cheerful. but hey the Butlins chavs will have a great time in here.
Lots of t's, rails of cut price tops and jeans plus summer swim wear. Look hard enought and you'll soon find "trackie bottoms" and baseball caps. Rails and rails of it so u should find summat John

Review of Merlins Amusements
29 May 08, 19:27
what Dave L
must be a while since u been here Dave L.
Its dirty, the carpets are worn and the machines are out dated.
This place needs lots of love and care - but I suppose with the Butlins crowd, they really dont care as long as the moneys flooding in.

Review of Mcdanas Takeaway
29 May 08, 19:13
the name gives it away
supposed to be a good play on words but fails miserably.
bland food, badly cooked .
Burgers are tasteless - apart from the bitter tasting raw onions.
Chips are usually crispy on the outside , but hollow (where does the potato go?)
Fish is greasy and the batter is the wrong side of golden.
Avoid

Review of Golden House
29 May 08, 19:08
excellent
when you live 25 miles away and u go to this place once a week as a treat, its gotta be good. and it is, freshly cooked while you wait and sometimes when they are busy, that wait can be up to 45 mins.
Family run business, they normally have a special of the day Tues - Thurs and always worth giving that a go.
Think they close Mondays , but open up until about 11pm

Review of M H China & Glass Etc
29 May 08, 19:04
Hope this is the shop
I cant see from the map if this is the shop i want to rave about or not!
IF it is the one, its bloody brilliant.
Basically they buy the end of ranges from all the major china suppliers.
We had Denby as a wedding gift and this place were actually able to get replacements for broken pieces 8 years later.
Well worth a special trip to stock up on Denby, Doulton and Whittards.

Review of Samarkand
29 May 08, 19:00
many a visit
thing i really like about this gift shop is that theres cheap and tacky ( snow globes and plastic souvenirs ) and also nice gifts - lovely cuddly toys, nice pieces of glass and crystal and some nice figueroons.
That actually means you can get ur nice stuff for the family and the cheap stuff for the friends ALL in one shop

Review of Carousel Gifts

someone burn it please
hell fire, if anyone ever bought me a gift from this place, i'd know they really didnt like me.
Pull of plastic souvenirs and plaster of paris ornaments.
Stunningly aweful ... and not even in a good way.
Probably time to bin the fade post cards too

Review of Red Lion
29 May 08, 18:52
looks like u get
yep from the outside it looks like a pub that selld watneys red barrel ... and it probably still does. This place is always packed so it MUST have something about it. Myself, I find it intimidating walking past crowds of barely legal teens supping and smoking .. and that be youre even inside. Looks like a dive and is.

Review of Butlins
14 May 08, 22:17
you will leave disappointed and broke
this whole ethos of Butlins is to fleece people of as much money as they can. entry price to this hell hole is extortionate. once inside the only thing that is free, is the swimming pool. the rest, wall climbing, ten pin bowling, go-carting, fair rides, "test your skill" games, all COST EXTRA! The food is just a series of over priced burger bars and pizza parlours . Every inch of space is occupied by slot machines and electronic ways to part you with your money .... some thing you need to do to keep the kids from being bored .. there really isnt any thing else for them to do.

Review of West Somerset Railway
14 May 08, 21:46
Back to the Time of the Railway Children.
I wouldnt ever have thought that i would enjoy a train trip so much. There is something truely wonderful about a steam engine. The smell, the sounds all add to an amazing adventure. The actual length of track is relatively short, about 15 miles, but you can hop on and off the train and stop at the restored stations along the way. Its a real trip back in time, to a bygone age, when life was sweeter, grass was greener and the air was full of steam ....
