Review of The Paper Mill Shop

Everything Paper
If you're not sure what to expect get out an old envelope and on the back of it write a list of everything you can think of that's made of paper and that will be what they stock in this store.

Global Gifts
Some fab ideas here for presents with an earth conscious theme, including some authentic looking hand made items from across the globe however its hard to know how genuine all this stuff actually is.

Gift Shop
If you have just been round the Palace of Holyrood House you will find some nice souvenirs here of your visit. You can also get into here without having to walk round the museum so you can buy a guide book and see what's inside without having to pay for a ticket which is a great way to make your money go further.

Review of Edinburgh Castle Gift Shop

Nice choice
If you have visited the castle (which you really should do if you are going to Edinburgh - it's amazing) this is a great place to buy a souvenir and they have some really nice stuff actually including the usual books, keyrings etc but also pewter goblets which are rather cool.

Love the name, love the shop - it just sells loads of weird stuff like really random little models of scottish men and unusual touristy items. Check it out and I bet you will end up finding something you really want but never knew you did!

Tourist Mecca
If you're here on holiday this is one of the places to avoid like the plague. They do not sell anything of any value it's pure tat and designed for tourists to part them from their money. Move on to somewhere like a whiskey shop and get a genuine souvenir of scotland and discover why whiskey is the king of liquor.

Review of The Christmas Shop

Seasonal Value
Not a lot here for you in May but if you are planning ahead you can get some good deals on Xmas decorations if you buy early. However it comes into its own in the last quarter of the year as the definitive destination for decorations.

Weird Curios
Curious stuff in this shop hence the name, it's hard to describe the stuff but it would be a great place to look for a gift for someone who is hard to buy for because they will definitely not have any of this stuff already!

Review of Canongate Gift Shop

Tourist Trap
This is somewhere to trap the unwitting tourist with a huge range of tat at silly prices. You will think you're getting a bargain but think again, cos its actually cheap rubbish. Avoid this place, walk past and keep your wallet closed.

Review of Russian Shop

Russia in Edinburgh
I never expected to visit a Russian Shop when I was in Edinburgh but there is one, and it is pretty authentic. Maybe you are fed up of Whiskey and fancy sone Vodka well they do that and also loads of Russian Dolls which get progressively smaller as you open them up.

Review of Wee Gift Shop

Little Gift Shop
Wee is Scottish for Small and this gift shop is actually medium sized, They have some nice stuff in here - check out the scotland flag t shirts and the Edinburgh pencils but also some less obvious things like keyrings and actual models of Edinburgh castle. Everything is extremely tasteless. Wonderful.

Whiskey Heaven
If you love whiskey then you have to come to Scotland and to a shop that specialises in Whiskey like this one. They have some really rare old bottles of Whisky which are worth a fortune as well as a good selection of little miniature bottles and other souvenirs. Well worth a visit.

There's nothing more beautiful than a perfectly formed gemstone and if there's someone special in your life you should check this place out for some perfect gifts. I got a topaz ring here and it's still sparkling.
