Review of Wenlock Arms

The pub that time forgot 5*

A warm welcome and one of the finest rotating selections of real ales in the country. Live Jazz music and eccentric locals, salt beef sandwiches, wipe your feet on the way out...it doesn't get much better than this...

Superb location 4*

Sunday lunches are nice but can get a bit busy during the summer so best to book early. Screens upstairs where you can relax and watch the football...

Hidden gem 5*

Interior is quite unique and very chilled out. Sunday lunch is excellent, although a bit on the small and pricey side. Fine selection of beers and snacks.

Good meeting place 3*

for people arriving at Angel tube. Get's packed during football matches and the crowd spills onto the street when the weather is nice. Average beer and average atmosphere

Review of Bar Kick

If you love table football... 4*

Then this is the pub to visit. Not too expensive but the games can go fast if you are any good at playing. The crowd is OK for Shoreditch and can get quite busy at weekends.

Shoreditch Favourite 5*

Pool table at the back and excellent music. Usually have a couple of DJ's sitting spinning tunes all night long. Unpretentious crowd and have had many a good night in there.

Review of Zebrano

Friendly staff... 5*

...in a great location. Seats outside on a sunny day cannot be beaten for people watching.

Menu is better than other pubs in the area, the oriental platter goes down a treat if you are in a small group.

Highly recommended...

Review of The Betsey Trotwood

Was there for a birthday party 4*

and had a great night out.

Bar staff were really friendly and chatty.

They had a dj set upstairs playing 1960's girl group bubble gum pop which went down well. When you consider some of the other pubs nearby, this one stands out from the rest.

I recommend it...

Review of Gantons

No longer exists 1*

It is now called "The Diner", an american theme pub that sells overpriced burgers and stringy chips. Seems to do well with the tourist crowd and first timers. You'd be advised to step next door into Zebranos for a much better menu, service and atmosphere.

Review of The Camden Head

Mixed crowd 3*

Much better if you can get a seat in the small beer garden outside on a hot summers day as you'll see a lot of people walking through the market.

Inside is a bit grubby with a mixed crowd.

Having said that, it is better than most of the McPubs that you'll find on Upper Street...
