Review of Cha Cha Moon

Teething Troubles?
This being the new offering from the guys behind Wagamama and Busaba Eathai, I was expecting tasty, wholesome food in communal surroundings. Having gone there for the first time for a spot of lunch, I was woefully disappointed at my expectations being half met.
The premises are situated between Ganton Street and Kingsly Square - and certainly look the part of a noodle bar. The place is bustling with noise, noise, and more noise. Trying to talk to my friend seated opposite me needed a raised voice, and talking with the waiting staff was hard work.
The food was certainly nothing to write home about. I had duck and noodle soup, which was nigh on tasteless - and the noodles looked like something out of a pot noodle. As is said in the previous review, portions are not that large either, so we also ventured for the wontons and a spring onion pancake - the former were probably the tastiest thing I ate there - the pancake was the greasiest.
I also had a lemon tea, which was far too sweet and wasn't really worth what they were charging for a small cup.
The £3.50 promotion period is still ongoing, so perhaps worth a try out just so you say you HAVE tried it. However, I certainly won't be going back for a long time - I'd rather spend an extra 10 minutes walking to an eatery in China Town.

Review of Soba

Go to the other branch!
I'm not sure if its because they were quite busy, understaffed, or what, but I found this branch of Soba to be the more dissapointing restaurant of the two.
Staff were run off their legs, looking pretty angry, and had an air of "its all going wrong" about them.
The food, although having the same ingrediants (presumbly recipies) as the Poland Street restaurant, tasted different, more oily, and it took us 25 minutes to receive our food after ordering.
I note they do have a larger offering of dishes at this branch, with sushi on the menu as well, but thats not enough to pull me in the door - i'd rather spend 5 minutes extra walking down to Poland street for an overall more pleasent experience.

Review of Cineworld West India Quay
01 Jul 07, 16:51
There's better and there's worse
A good cinema with 10 screens, a lineup of films which doesn't stretch any boundaries (typically limited to those big names on general release), and a bar for pre/post film drinks. Being my local cinema, I find it convienient, but it does have a few negative points.
The MAJOR annoyance I find is the local teens that tend to watch films here. They just dont know how to keep their mouths closed or phones turned off, and its on more than one occasion ruined a film. As KevinD also says, they're always trying to get in for free. Seats and footwells are generally clean, but seating could be a tad more comfortable. Its acceptible for a typical hour and a halfs showing, but longer films tend to see you shifting in your seat far too much. A multi-story car park lies next door, and the DLR stops at West India Quay which is 5 minutes walk away.
