Review of The Hen and Chickens Theatre
19 May 07, 16:19
Pub with theatre
This is a local pub that also has a small fringe theatre. A range of plays are put on, as well as a well renowned comedy night. The Hen and Chickens is a fun and cheap night out.

Review of Nature Line

Brazilian bar
The Cuban is, as you've probably guessed, a Cuban themed bar. The cocktails are great, the walls are brightly coloured, and Che Guevera is heavily featured (a bit cliched I think, but I guess he is the most famous Cuban around). Regular live music is really good, and the latin house that is played at the weekends is fun. The toilets are outside and up lots of steps, and have always been pretty dirty whenever I've used them. There is a seating area outside which is great in the summer.

Review of Parveen Tandoori Restaurant
19 May 07, 10:41
The best Indian restaurant in the world
The Parveen is widely viewed among my friends and family as the best Indian restaurant going. A good friend of mine spent 2 months in India and believes that she ate nothing that surpassed the Parveen. You must try the chicken tikka masala, the north indian garlic chilli chicken and the lamb rogan josh. However, over the years the Parveen's prices have crept up, and the atmosphere isn't fantastic...but none of this matters when you have tasted the food. The owner of the restaurant is a very friendly man, who gets to know his customers and provides an excellent service. Forget the newer and cheaper Indian restaurants that keep springing up in Angel, none of them are even nearly as good as the Parveen!

Review of The Bull

Great pub in Angel
The Bull is a pub in the middle of Angel. It attracts quite a young crowd for early evening drinks - although it now opens till 1am at the weekend so it's easy to never get round to leaving! The Bull plays great music and has a relaxing atmosphere. My friends and I think it's a perfect meeting place. My only gripe with The Bull is that it doesn't have a house wine, so you invariably end up choosing a pricey glass, when any old house wine would have done fine.

Review of Torriano
17 May 07, 10:14
Kentish Town pub
The Torriano is a very small, local pub tucked away from the more obvious drinking establishments in Kentish Town. It's location means that the customers are all locals, and the husband and wife that run the pub make an effort to get to know their regulars. This is pretty rare for North London, in my experience. The Torriano has won awards for it's range of real ale, and the wine list is extensive too. The Torriano serves great food, and has lots of different nights, including a quiz and regular barbeques. So the Torriano is a great place to have a few local drinks..but it's also lovely in the day - great for a coffee and a chat.

Review of The Sussex
16 May 07, 18:24
Pub in West End
The Sussex is an ok pub in Covent Garden. It attracts mostly tourists, to whom I imagine it seems very 'English.' To a Londoner, it's just any old pub, which isn't cheap (due to it's location, I imagine). Fine for a drink, but avoid the food - my friend had a pretty bad steak sandwich that cost a fair bit.

Review of Rowans
16 May 07, 10:41
Rough bowling alley
This bowling alley is as rough as they come. It seems to be some sort of meeting area for the less desirable residents of Finsbury Park, and so has quite an intimidating feel. Go further North to Finchley Hollywood Bowl for a more pleasant bowling experience.

Review of Somerset House
15 May 07, 16:40
Historic building
Somerset house is a beautiful old building that shows art. My favourite thing about Somerset House is the winter ice rink. You skate outside on a rink in the courtyard. It's very pricey but it's a very magical experience, for all the family.

Review of The Garden
14 May 07, 16:57
Pub with beer garden
The Garden is a pub that's particularly popular in the summer, as it has a large beer garden at the front. Inside is fine; just a pub really. Very popular with football fans that watch all the matches on the big screens.
