Review of Kingsmead Shopping Centre

not much left now

Kingsmead is the only bit of the shopping centre really left now and at the moment it is really a bit of a sorry state, there are still a few shops left but they are making way for the new shopping centre to be built. There is a very good fancy dress/ party bits shop at the entrance and a very big blockbusters so hopefully this will become the gateway to a fantastic new shopping centre sometime soon. Watch this space!!

Review of Farnborough Recreation Centre

Pump it!

The leisure centre in Farnborough is very good, it is clean and tidy but doesn't get so busy that you feel squashed in. There is a massive selection of classes and the gym is very well laied out and equipped. The classes are all very challenging but worth doing. One of the best things about this leisure centre is that they really have everything, as well as the gym, classes and sports halls, they have a swimming pool (cold but very clean) and they also have Farnborough Bowl. Well worth visiting and memberships are well priced for regular visitors.

Review of Alpine Snowsports

Try the doughnuts!!

Alpine Snowsports is possibly the best outdoor ski centre in the area, the slope is very well maintained and the equipment is all of a very high standard. The staff are all very helpful and the lessons are fun but challenging. This is possibly the best way to learn, if you can ski or board on a dry slope then you can go anywhere. If you don't feel like you have ski legs then try the doughnuts because they are just brilliant (you don't eat them you ride them, I will let you find out more but it is something everyone should try).

Review of Coral Reef

Make a splash!!

Coral Reef is a great trip out, it is no good as a swimming pool but it is great for a bit of fun, the slides are fantastic espically the fast one (that makes a massive splash at the bottom) and the priate ship is brilliant if you have children (or if like me you are just a big kid at heart). The rapids can be a lot of fun, and if you are a strong swimmer the challenge it to try to swim against them!

Review of Arena Leisure Centre

Swimming Pool at the Arena

I usually use the pool when I go to the arena, it does get very busy and the pool is freezing so only really any good for lanes not leisure but they do offer very good lessons here and the price is good. I have also used the courts and they are well maintained and hire equipment is generally good. I would always book in advance for a court as they can get booked up.

Review of Farnborough Bowl

Spare or Strike.....

Farnborough Bowl is just fantastic, it is small, and only has a few lanes but it is one of the nicest bowling lanes i have been to. It is well looked after and the staff are very helpful, everything still feels very new and it is pretty cheap as well. The food and drink is also well priced and very tasty.

Review of The Oatsheaf

Fantastic Garden!

The Oatsheaf is a great pub espically on a warm summers evening as the garden is very relaxing. There is a good selection of beer and wine and the staff are very good as well. Food is well prepared and tasty and is good value for money.

I have always liked clarkes shoes, they are well made and are always comfortable, I really like their boots. This is quite a good sized store with very helpful staff.

Review of First Choice Travel Shops

Fancy a bit of Sun?

First Choice do offer value for money holidays but I am not sure that I would recommend them. We have been away with them a few times and while the shops them selves are fab and full of very interesting holidays, when we have actually come to go away, I wouldn't say I was impressed. The planes are very small (you get more space on the bus) and can be quite grubby and the transfer buses are very, very old, smelly and can be a little bit scary however the hotels have made up for it as they have always been wonderful. I guess it depends on what you are looking for and how long your transfers are.
