Drink 3*

Very close to Trafalgar & Leicester Square this is a good meeting spot.

It's a Sam Smith's pub so don't expect regular brands just their odd homemade brews! The pub itself is pretty big and full of odd designs. They also serve food till about 10pm.

Review of The Yorkshire Grey

Drink 3*

The Yorkshire Grey looks very pretty from the outside and it's a non tourist filled pub about 7 minutes walk from Oxford Street. It's also very close to Broadcasting House so it's full of BBC people.

It's part of a chain called Sam Smiths who make all their own drinks. I like the orange and apple fruit juice, it's particularly good mixed with a double archers.

If downstairs is too busy don't forget, as I often do, there is a small upstairs also.

A JINGLE 3*

A big club in Chelmsford, the best thing about the club is the fact they have a jingle which they play various times throughout the night. Amazing.

Other than that pretty standard local town club fodder.

Drink 3*

A pretty nice pub located on the non trendy end of Curtain Road.

It often holds club nights and you can expect to hear some good electro music here. Prices are as you'd expect for a non west end london pub.

Cocktails 4*

This is a great underground cocktail bar that you'd have to know about to go to really. It's down a small metal staircase under a shop at the top of Shaftesbury Avenue.

There's a huge range of cocktails priced at about £6.

I'd advise going weekdays rather than weekend though as it's uncomfortably rammed on friday and saturdays.

DUCK 3*

This used to be quite good but I think it's run down a bit now.

There are trays and trays of Chinese food. It's quite hot and seems fresh. However the space isn't that great, you feel like you're in a big canteen and at £14 it's not that cheap either.

Located on a busy duel carriageway, there is parking available.

JEWISH LOVE 5*

Make sure you go to the right bagel bakery. The first one from Bethnal Green Road is this one and the correct one. The one with the yellow sign is evil and puts bacon inside a bagel.

HOW WRONG IS THAT. Don't put illegal meat in Jewish bread. Jeez.

This bagel place is yummy and so ridiculously cheap it's hard to get your head around. Salt beef bagels are great late at night but it is like eating a whole raw cow. For lunch a £1.20 smoked salmon & creme cheese is unbeatable.

Sob! 3*

A very busy Italian restaurant that serves mainly very large pizzas.

Staff are quick & efficient yet still friendly and dare we say a little flirty with the lady customers.

I'm not that fond of the pizzas here, but my friends all love them so I might be wrong.

Last time I went a boy I'd not so secretly loved for 7 years made me cry so I'm not sure I'll go again very soon.

Dance dance 4*

It claims to be an international jazz bar but I know it more as a late night drinking den.

It's quite edgy, you don't know what to expect. The crowd are a mixture of old east end and normals who wander in. They're open till about 4am Thursday - Sat and have a very random DJ who just plays whatever random R&B he fancies from the 90s. They do also have jazz bands on during the week which are fun. It's normally £4 late in.

Review of Carmelli Bagel Bakery

Yum 4*

The ultimate bagel bakery in Golders Green.

But don't expect friendly service. They want you to move along quickly now!

Bagels are reasonably priced and always fresh & they have a fabulous range of biscuits that are melt in the mouth. Also try their great baked cheesecake.
