Review of The Fitzroy Patisserie

13 Apr 08, 18:18

Not nice 2*

There's plenty of options around here that there's no real need to go to the Fitzroy Patisserie.

It's pretty big but quite old fashioned looking. You can get takeaway or you can eat in. There are hot dishes or you can get sandwiches made in front of you, and there's cakes, but they're not even good!

Booo!

Review of Halifax PLC

££ 4*

I've only been in this branch a couple of times, but it seems good.

It's pretty big, very tidy and the staff are helpful. There are quite a lot of counters so you get seen quickly.

Review of The Court

Yellow 4*

This is an It's A Scream Pub so its full of cheap drinks and cheap food - particularly for this part of London.

There's two floors - upstairs has some pool tables and downstairs you can amuse yourself with quiz machines and video jukeboxes.

A wide range of drinks are on offer but don't go looking for anything fancy. It's all the normal range of alcopops, beers, spirits and shots.

Thee's also an outside area with those big heaters to keep you warm on benches when you are having a cigarette.

Review of Horse and Groom

DJ spotting 4*

This is a really nice pub about 8 minutes walk from Oxford Street. It's a Sam Smiths so don't expect normal drinks!

There is a large upstairs which can be hired out and a pool table & darts board at the back of the main bar.

It's frequented a lot by staff from Radio 1 so if you fancy spotting a DJ this is the place to go.

Review of The Yorkshire Grey

10 Apr 08, 02:05

Drink 3*

The Yorkshire Grey looks very pretty from the outside and it's a non tourist filled pub about 7 minutes walk from Oxford Street. It's also very close to Broadcasting House so it's full of BBC people.

It's part of a chain called Sam Smiths who make all their own drinks. I like the orange and apple fruit juice, it's particularly good mixed with a double archers.

If downstairs is too busy don't forget, as I often do, there is a small upstairs also.
