Review of Sakura

Fun dancing 4*

Sakura is a medium sized nightclub in the centre of Lincoln with a Japanese theme. We went on a Saturday where the price was £4 before 12 and £6 after. Dress code seemed to be anything really - got in in jeans and trainers but most people were dressed up.

It's quite dark inside. The is a light up dancefloor section, a bar area with lots of seats and a long vip section we couldn't get in. The cloakroom was good and cost £1.

Musically - it was all a bit random but mainly new chart stuff with a dance edge, although it did seem to go Soca every 30 mins or so. We danced to the likes of T2, Estelle, Utah Saints, September etc...

Review of The Metro Club

Dance 3*

This is a basement club on Oxford Street frequented by people quite into their music. Lots of new bands play here and you can often catch bigger plans playing smaller sets..

There's a dipped dancefloor and it's always pretty dark in there. Definately a place to wear jeans and trainers and not to dress up in your best clobber.

Review of The Borderline

dance 3*

A gig and club venue located just off Tottenham Court Road. Owned by a major company so drinks aren't the cheapest and the small bar is often very busy so it takes ages to get served.

Also must warn you - i'm not sure i've ever been anywhere so hot!! Don't wear a jumper.

Dance 3*

This is a pretty small club in the basement of a building on Curtain Road in the heart of Shoreditch.

It's quite hot down there as it is a basement. It has some really good club nights but drinks aren't cheap and there are lots of people completely off their faces.

Nights differ wildly so make sure you've checked the listings before going down.

Review of Boom Boom Room

Dance 3*

This is a large club formerly known as Jellies underneath the defunct Palace nightclub.

Locals don't really go, it's mainly filled by tourists and tends to have a slightly nasty older lecherous men praying on really young girls feel to it.

As all the classy clubs go, there are lots of carpeted areas! Hooray.

Review of Po Na Na

Dance 4*

If you're after a pretty normal club, playing pretty commerical music then Po Na Na is the place to go.

It's a nice club and the people who go there aren't too young. They are after a good time and there's no loitering when it comes to getting on the dancefloor. My favourite night is also thursday - it's a bit random!

booze 5*

This is a brilliant alternative gay bar by Leicester Square. They have a cheap drink range and a 'no soho bollocks' policy.

There is always something different going on each night but it's famous for hosting the Popjustice parties on a Friday and Stardust on a Saturday, both of which are £3 in after 11.

It's also the place to go to buy queue jumps for Popstarz.

Staff are friendly and have an edge.

A JINGLE 3*

A big club in Chelmsford, the best thing about the club is the fact they have a jingle which they play various times throughout the night. Amazing.

Other than that pretty standard local town club fodder.

Used to be popular 2*

Used to be a really popular bar in the centre of Blackpool but now it's a deadzone. There are two floors and upstairs can be booked out for prviate parties.

The bar is very long and the music is chart based. Drinks are mainly stuff like WKD, VK & bottled beers.

Wouldn't go here unless necessary.

Review of Club Heaven & Hell

No longer here 4*

This no longer exists, but when it did it was brilliant.

Double Your Money, £5 in and free bar promotions made it a wicked night out when we were all 18. There were 2 rooms, heaven played pop and hell, dance.

Then it went downhill and disappeared! Boo hoo.

Small & Shiny 4*

This is a small club on Topping Street, around the corner from the Syndicate.

The odd decor is all shiny silver and it feels like a club built in the 80s that was later abandoned! The main night here is Jenx on a Friday which is an indie disco, drinks are quite cheap and it's normally about £5 in.

Review of The Syndicate Super Club

Super blackpool 3*

This is a massive club and probably the best place to go in Blackpool if you want dance music. They often have people like Dave Pearce & Judge Jules playing, and er better people I just can't think of any.

There are 3 rooms. The upstairs dance room has a revolving dance floor which is more fun than it sounds. Then there's a charty room downstairs and a smaller over 25s room.

Review of Infernos Nightclub

Clapham at it's finest 3*

I've only been once and was expecting a terrible time so it actually came out better than expected.

Reminded me of clubs back home in Blackpool - full on cheese, carpeted floors, talking djs.

It's got a huge two floors, lots of bars and is filled with hot girls, and ugly guys.

If you went to unis like Warwick, Birmingham etc, then prepare to spot people you snogged 5 years ago and never want to see again.

Review of The Ghetto

Brilliant Night Out 5*

A great gay club situated in a basement down an alley that smells of wee.

Every night has a different theme from pop to indie to college rock to electro to dance.

Prices are pretty cheap for Soho and they have great drinks offers. Staff are alternative and friendly and that's the general ethos, it's meant to be a place to avoid the cliched bitchy gay scene
