keep using it
As the other reviews say this place is special as it stocks all the herbal stuff you can't get anywhere else.. i used to have a parrott who had a strange diet of herbal type foods and this was the only place i could ever get it. It is a small shop but it's rarae that they haven't got what you want!

A lovely book shop that does its best to compete with the main chains but has that special feel when you walk in there. I love looking at the books and if you can't se what you want the staff will do thier utmost to source it for you. PLEASE buy from here to keep this local shop going!

one of the best
used to be a bigger chain of stores ( ok ...well 3 / 4 ) but they seem to have scaled down a bit, but this is by far the best one. It may not be the cheapest sports shop around but it is the one in this area that has the best stock of stuff and i spend alot of time and money in there kitting out my sporty son. Staff are lovely and really helpful

Knowing the owner means i know how much hard work they put into running this place. It's always busy even in winter which says alot for it, and there is nothing better than takeaway fish and chips from thsi place and then sitting on the beach ( 50 yeards away ) and eating them!

THis is one of the best bakery's in North Devon Let alone Barnstple! Garaham and his wife who run it work very hard and all the staff are great and the cakes etc. are all rather delicious.. if you are on a diet do not venture in here as you will be tempted to buy loads

This shop chain has a great reputation and there is a good reason for this. They have a great range of clothes for ladies and men and kinds though the kids area is limited. Can be pricey, but if you watch for the sales you can get a great bargain. Shop is airy and well staffed

since this place has been refurbished it is great. they get all the upto date films and have three really nice screens. Advisable to book via the internet though the doors are open to the public for advance bookings by 2pm each day. The staff are great here and run a great place

tucked away in Holland walk there is always a lovely aroma when you go inthere and south American music playing in the background, so the atmosphere is good. they do a really different type of food ( wraps with lots of delightful cheeses etc.. ) and the owner is passionate about her cafe.. if you like spicey food with a different this a little bit classy and popular.. coffees are good here aswell

everytime i go here i am always impressed not only with the food but also the service. Part of the Brends empire it will always have a standard to keep to, which is a good thing and yeas alot of offices have thier parties here but that's cos its good value. perfect place for a light lunchtime snack or big evening meal

get fit
I like this place as it has got alot to offer. It has a resturant, bar, indoor bowling, squash courts, excellent gym, huge swimming pool and lots of other fitness-stuff -like clasess. You can pay as you go or become a member, which is normally cheaper. Busy place where Barnstaple swimming club operate out of and sometimes you will find they have the use of the lanes alot of the evenings, which annoys some regular swimmers..but hey ho you'll just have to work round them. It won't bein this location for much longer as is going to be replaced at a different location to make way for a new college campus.

If you are on the tarka trail having a cycle day out with you family you MUST stop here. They do the "bestest" cakes ever and have really nice freindly staff. Ideal place to stock up those much needed rations ready for your adventure along the tarka trail.. great place in a fab location

OMG i used to go here years ago and loved the sylists. The lady who runs it now is really nice and i know she has a good trade. If you want a good reasonably priced haircut and live this way itswell worth booking an appointment.. if I hadn't got a friend who does my hair i would love to go back here.

Got to support this place
One of many chains of shops for the North devon Hospice and this is one of the best. The staff are easy going, laid back and very helpful. All items sold go to a really worthy local cause, and the staff always seem to amaze me that they know where evrything is and what they have got, which is loads of stuff.. great for recyling goods back into society and earning a penny or two for the Hospice

I went here by pure recommendation and was glad for that. Possibly wouldn't have found it otherwise, but they stock loads of what i would term girly stuff that is very well priced and really trendy. Great shop worth a visit just to browse the day away.. and i bet you end up buying something

smell that is fab
Like one of the other reviews said the minute you walk in this place the smell of leather makes you want the goods. The shop has been going a while and i have bought various items from here, which have not been cheap but very good quality. Stuff will last for ever. Lots of choice though it might be worth asking for what you want as it's quite crowded in there

As the ad says this is the better way to shop...... yes and no.. it's always quite busy but there are plenty of books around and the queue always seems to move.. would advise maybe going online first to check in stock and save to speed process up when you get there. All staff I have come across have been really good, and i have bought quite alot of good jewellery from here

it's just not cricket
If you are a cricket fan you have to go here. It is easy to access by the tube system, and it has the best atmosphere ever. Great shop to buy all your stuff.. Was well worth the visit a the days cricket i saw ( MCC v Pakistan ).. all very modern facilities though beer prices were somewhat steep.. captive audience!

This is one of the best days you could have on a quad bike. They are great fun and you can take the whole family as they can all get on different level rides. Can be a bit rpicey, but that's the nature of the business. They are very safety concsious which is a good thing

I love this shop, as it has everything you could need, inclduing a good range of Tu clothing. It's large, airy and bright with easy to find aisles.. and i have laways found the staff really friendly. For your weekly shop the prices will be a good as anyone else for the great quality!

Part of a group of 3 other branches, this is a very professional company that has great bosses. They strive to be very professional, though this office is quite small and with more than two people in may get crowded which can put buyers off going in there.. still they can always check what they are selling from thier marketing. Worth speaking to when looking to sell as competitive and give you an honest valuation on your property

Situated half way up high street, selling all phones and all network providers. Really nice staff and very helpful, though as a small shop you can wait sometimes to get served. They have a sister shop in Mill street which stocks even more phones, so you should always be able to get what you want

Sally Nichols, one of the mortgage advisors, is very nice, patient and superb at her job. They never make promises they can't keep and if they can't find you a mortgage.. noone can

I went with this company as they are a broker and able to get competitive quotes for you house and car insurances.. only trouble i found is that once they tie you into a company on renewal they don't always search for the cheapest quote unless you ask them

father and son business
Father and son business that tend to concentrate on new builds. They build to a very high quality but are quite expensive. They will do the smaller job, but i suggest you get a firm quote first, though their workmanship will be 100% - it may cost you a few more pennies than another local builder.. but you get what you pay for in a good way!

I think you will find that these two have gone their own seperate ways, with Chris Marshall working along side another guy is one of the best builders in North Devon. He did my extension on my house and is was a great job and not overcharged and finished on time.. what more could you ask for?

Robeda.. just love this company.. okay i used to work there.. but i can give inside info!!! It's a great compnay that offers a joinery side as well as a building side. If you need excellent quality wood iwndos, doors atircases then this is the place to go. The construction side has gone more commercial buildings, but occasionally they will take on rennovations or extensions

If you've got kids or act like a kid this is a fab day out. pay on the door and then most of the activities are free. Two roller coaster rides, with another on the way soon, a maize, an indoor play area, indoor ghost house type ride, birds of prey, ferret show.... need i go on... great day out for the family and one you keep going back to time after time!

this is situated off the beaten track a little but once found ( in behind the houses in Littleham ) it's well worth it. they do lovely food and the staff are great here. Has a good local trade and tourist ( if they can find it !! ) Recommend it 100%

since being taken over by Rob Braddick and refurbished this has become a great place to drink and eat. Alot of functions are held here for companies and there is a beer garden at the back for families. Parking a pain and located in Bideford East rather than the main avenue of pubs

I haven't been here for a while now, but know alot of the girls, who are really nice.. though i do get where the other review is comming from. You can be made to feel a bit self conscious when you walk in there and Phillip, the owner, needs to smile a bit more and be less up tight which would then filter down to the staff.. who i feel are under pressure ...hence a not so relaxing atmosphere when you go in there.. though they have loyal customers, so not everyone feels like us two.

As this is the only swimming pool in Bideford area it is very popular. It has a gym on site aswell, so is ideal for when kids are swimming for parents to use gym facilities.. Pool has outside activites alot of the time so its worth checking thier timetable before going down there on the off chance! Very good and clean facilities
