ideal if you are short of sommit 
As the other review says it does stock its own brand but its cheap and if you need that item you fogot it is open during anti social hours, so that is why it trades so well. Every time i have been in there the staff have been fine and i have always found what i wanted

your local store
Doesn't seem that local any more. Ideal shop for this location in Barnstple but it's a national style shop now that has to compete with the likes of Tescos etc. So would you drive there possibly not but if you live close enough to walk to it, it serves a purpose!

convenient? 
I think this store relies on being known for the name. I ahve ofetn popped in here after my son finished swimming at the school next door and found the staff rather offish and quite happy to chat to a local person who was just stood there, rather than concentrate on serving me!.. bitter.. me?.. of course not!

Review of Spar

spar but not as boxing
I always use Spar chain for last minute stuff, Milk etc.... But as one of the other reviews have said this is not one of the better ones. They have a standard layout and product range but seem to stock less than other shops in the area and parking is a bit of a nightmare.. but it is local so you must support it!
