have noodles not sushi
noodle dishes etc looked great - and my friends gave v good reports. The sushi's not really sushi though, more like the tesco version, so avoid that if you like the real deal. but the rest of the menu looks great ... and the place is lush. cosy but modern.

Review of Teoh's Restaurant

cheap n cheerful
Great for a cheap meal in a hurry. Not the best Asian food in town by any stretch ... but if you're just after a reasonable meal before heading out it's not bad, and very social for big groups etc.

easy-going, great cuts
This is the first time I've ever had a regalar hair salon that feels like mine. they're really friendly, very laid back. not so trendy it's intimidating but no so untrendy you're going to worry about the result. And the best thing - they understand what I'm on about when I describe what i want ... and they do it!

Review of Fuchsia Restaurant Bar

great food in style
Delicous food ...at least my prawns were ... mixed reports about the pork dish my friend had though. But the menu is really extensive, and although I'm no connoisseur, looked like plenty of 'genuine' Chinese meals too, not just the stuff the Brits like. And if the number of Chinese diners is anything to go by - this must be 'proper.' Great wine list too and nice bottles for reasonable price. All beautifully presented and by very friendly efficient staff. The setting's quite modern and glitzy too - and makes a real change to the average Chinese restaurant.

Review of The One Stop Thali Cafe

fab food, lush place, great price
Top spot for a cheap but tasty (-and even healthy!) meal out. The food's slightly different every night - but it's a set (vegetarian) menu ... thing about tali is, it means lots of bits of all sorts. And it's always been delicious when I've been there. Very good value too - 2 of you can eat out and have drink for less than a tenner each. But if you want to treat youself to all the trimmings still excellent value. And the best thing ... the room its set in - fantastic hotpotch of Indian / Bollywood style memorablia with some random kitch chucked in. You cant help gazing at the walls...

Review of The Sugar Loaf

proper local pub
Proper local pub. Usually plenty of people in but you can always get a table. Great local ales - Butcombe and more - funnily enought that's the name that sticks in my head though. Its a great pint! Great jukebox, pool tables in the back room and comfy 'snug' one side of bar. Only down-side bit stuffy and smelly on a busy night ... but so are most pubs since the smokng ban!
