Review of Henry's Bar
17 Apr 08, 14:47
Had its day
I don't think Henry's has seen a lick of paint in 10 years. Its image is as stayed as some of the clientele. This bar used to be the place to be seen but hasn't exactly moved with the times. Good for lunch if shopping or pre or post theatre dining

Review of Ha! Ha! Bar & Canteen

£3.50 a pint
It is San Miguel, but come on! A Cardiff bar that thinks it's in London. Stuck up, overpriced, small portions. Looks ok from the outside though. This really is no joke.

Review of The Yard
17 Apr 08, 14:32
Used to be an actual yard
Called the Yard as it's the old site of Brains Brewery until they moved to just outside town. They've done a fairly decent job of it too. Metal stair cases gives it an industrial feel, it has the usual beer and food selection that you'd associate with a Brains pub. An above average pub on a street of positively below average crap pubs that your used to on St. Mary St.

Review of Varsity

Studentville
If you're a student then this is your town hang out, probably would be even more popular if situated in Cathays. Loads of drinks offers, big screens, students in flip flops throwing drinks over each other. If that's your bag, go for it

Review of Foxtons
17 Apr 08, 14:03
Don't do it..
Estate agents don't have a great reputation at the best of times and after renting with these guys for 18 months, they do nothing for the industry. Pushy salesmen, no-shows, hidden charges and rude staff all make for a hugely unpleasant experience.

Review of Liquid Nightclub

Meat Market
Avoid this place if you have any dignity or style, it typifies the generic faceless corporateness of St. Mary St. Stay away at all costs. Does double up as a dance club from time to time, haven't been, so couldn't comment.

Review of Point

Finest Live Music Venue in the Diff
Hopefully by the time you read this the council won't have shut it down. Someone in one of the luxury apartments opposite complained about the noise, funny that moving next to Cardiff's finest live music venue. It would be an absolute travesty if this place were to close, it is a stunning building and has played host to bands like the Super Furries, Stereophonics, Battles and the world's greatest Kiss tribute act! Cardiff absolutely needs this venue.

Review of Mimosa

Patagonia
A family run business which doesn't disappoint. Mimosa is probably one of the finer restaurants in Cardiff Bay, it prides itself on quality local produce and has a varied menu. Gets very busy on weekends, so booking ahead is advisable. Very good service, Mimosa delivers.

Review of CLWB Ifor Bach
17 Apr 08, 13:03
25 years and still going strong..
Clwb celebrates 25 years in business this year, and has stood the test of time throughout constant change in the city centre. It is a mecca for live music, encapsulating all genres including indie, electro, drum and bass and funk whilst maintaining its strong Welsh roots. It has 3 floors and caters for pretty much for everyone. Very reasonable bar prices too. Probably Cardiff's best club.
