ribtastic
Cheap, cheerfull and downright yummy. They always do fantastic deals which you can find on their website, and the ribs are so good. I suggest booking the resturaunt downstairs as the deli is a bit hectic. make sure you book though especially on a sunday. Walked past this place on night and me and my friends were drawn in by the smell, however we didn't have a booking and had to wait until the following week were we made sure we boooked. worth the wait though.
My only problem was that I couldn't fit in dessert as I was too full and that can't be bad, I even took some of my ribs home in a doggy bag.

Review of Penks

Penk's
I had been here on a few free luches with work and was always impressed with the food. It is a little pricey for lunch however for an evening meal the place is lovely with a nice atmosphere where you can enjoy your company without to much noise. the food is always delicious, The game terine for starter was perfect and the lamb was served just right. They often make changes to the menu aswell which means the place never gets tiresome.

Review of The Purple Turtle

Good music shame about the smell
Went to a gig here the other night, 4 bands were on in total and they where a good mix so well done on the choice. The venue is quiet spacious with little places to sit down around the stage but enough tables at the back if you need a rest. The prices at the bar were not extortionate but about average. The barmaid who was left to serve on her own was very friendly and quick even though busy. I think the overall atmosphere in the place would have been better had it been fuller. The only really bad point though was the toilets. Now I have been to alot of gigs in dodgy bars but the toilets here were the worst I have ever smelt. Just going up the stairs to them was the strong smell of pee and it was overwhelming in the girls bathroom. The toilet looked clean enough but the smell of pee was near unbearable. So by all means go along and see a band but only if you can hold off on going to the toilet all night.

Review of The Small and Beautiful

Just like the name!
I really do like this place and not just because it's a stones throw away from me. It really does fufill its name perfectly. I have been there a few times now, the staff are always helpfull, the food is unbelivably cheap and always plentiful and delicious. The menu changes often, apart from a few staples such as tiger island- a huge bowl of mussels, prawns and squid, and also puffy duck - a great staple dish of theirs. My partner once had some amazing frogs legs their and last time I went I really enjoted the crab in filo pastry to start. Their is also a resturaunt in Willesden called little star, run by the same people. you can get meals at both for as little as £5 for 2 courses. but I'd go for the specials and the al a carte each time as its still so cheap yet you get good size portions. I have yet to try the sunday roast there but it is worth pointing out that kids eat for free at sunday roast.

Review of Sarracino

Excellent starter - great Pizza
Went to Sarracinos last night after it was recomended by a friend. I was expecting high standards as I had been told that it was the best pizza in London. The atmosphere in the place was lovely, it was bustling but luckily I still managed to get a table without boking. I would suggest booking though if going at the weekend. For starter me and my partner both ordered a selection of traditional Sicilian starters from the buffet, I suggest it is best to get this as we did with at least 2 people as then you get to try a bit of everything. These were amazing lots of combinations of fresh flavours perfectly seasoned. I ordered a pizza with potatoes and sausage with rosemary for main, It was a great pizza and tasted very authentic but didnt take my breath away, it was the same with my partners choice of Pizza with swordfish and aubergine. I think though we could have made better choices. The resturaunt I feel would also be good for vegetarians as alot of the pizza selectioned contained no meat. Overall it's a lovely resturaunt, I think I prefer the wider range and stranger slection of Pizza at fire and stone however this place is far more authentic, the staff are lovely and its a nice atmosphere. Me and my partner had a starter each, a pizza and we shared a bottle of house white, this averaged about £25 per head.
