Review of ShakeAway

None better
I remember popping in for a Weetabix milkshake after someone recommended one. I thought it'd be a daft idea. It wasn't. The Oreo one is great too. In fact, I still haven't been through enough of the variety of flavours they have.
The staff are always so much fun and seem to really enjoy working there. The shakes are heaven in a cup.

Review of The Varsity

Looks better from outside
From the outside you'd think this bar was a bit better than it actually is. It's exterior gives the impression of a classier bar than it is, as inside it is rather basic but the drinks are reasonable, even if you can't stay there all that late.

Pricey
There are some lovely sofas here. When I bought my flat I went here to suss out possible sofa action for my new purchase. I was tempted but found it very expensive for what you get.

Review of John Lewis

Temptation wherever you look
Aside from being a bit confusing to find your way around this store is great. If you're a home owner you'll probably want to take out a second mortgage because there's so much here you could want for your home interior. It's not cheap but then this IS John Lewis sweetie!

Review of Orange Rooms

Good but next door is better
I like the Orange Rooms but I only ever use it as somewhere convenient to go on to after I've been next door in Mono. To be fair to them they serve several different kinds of Jack Daniels so bonus points for that but for the drinks prices etc, it's not worth making a regular haunt, more of a 'sometimes' effort when you can't be bothered to go further afield.

Review of The Joiners

Best place to see bands before they break
This is a small, intimate venue and I've seen a number of bands here which have gone on to be big names, and once a band is big the chances of seeing them in such an intimate setting are almost nil. The staff are great too. Warning - in the summer it can become a bit of a sweat pit! But it's worth it!!

Review of Gap

Everything you'd expect from happy Gappy
This is a great store even if Gap's clothing varies greatly from year to year. Some years I find them very buyable and other not so much. The last year hasn't been great for Gap but i did get a very well priced jacket from them recently which has gone down well with people who follow what I wear closely (mainly my mum and sarcastic manager). The store is very well laid out though, and when they're having a 'good clothes' month it can be very tempting to buy too much!

Review of Next

Nicely priced / good location
I would have been very disappointed if West Quay didn't have a Next. I'm glad they're there, but I'm also glad there's a good range of stuff to choose from. Most of it is reasonably price and the staff have been very helpful when I've been stuck in a clothes-related dilemma.

Review of Mono

Drinks and pizza and atmosphere
This is one of my fave Southampton bars. Fabulous cocktails which I could sip on all night (especially on their 2-for-1 nights) and amazingly attractive bar staff to ogle. Best of all the pizzas which taste divine but sadly prevent me from being good looking enough to pull any bar staff (as I've clearly eaten too many). Long may Mono continue to keep me furnished with such splendiforous evenings
