Review of Body Control Pilates

Zip and tuck 4*

I have been going here for nearly a year and I am really pleased with Matthew's mat classes. They also offer classes on the pilates machines which look a bit scary but also a lot of fun.

I'll be going back for a while yet!

Review of Kentish Delight

Proper Turkish fare 4*

This is not just your bogstandard kebab shop. They also have a sort of wine bar/restaurant to the side of it.

Kentish Delight do everything you'd expect, from chips to shishs but the burgers are exceptional, too.

I recommend the chicken kebab with LOTS of their scumptious garlic sauce. Not just a treat when you're drunk on your way out of the nearby Forum...

If Ali should serve you, tell him I said hi.

Review of Cafe Emm

Great place (if you don't mind a queue) 4*

This restaurant has been consistently good for as long as I can remember so they must be doing something right.

Competition in this area of Soho is hardly scarce and their really simple menu which includes classics such as Spaghetti with (huge) meatballs, fishcake and lamb shank can't be faulted. Especially for the price.

They also do a great lunchtime menu so get on their mailing list to keep up to date with new offers.

The only bad thing I have to say about Cafe Emm is that they don't let you reserve a table so you could find yourself queuing for a while on a busy night.

Review of Maida Vale Tandoori Restaurant

08 Apr 08, 18:05

Best curry in the West 4*

I lived just down the road from this Tandoori for about seven years and miss it dearly. All I can say is, thanks god I still live in their delivery area now.

Fay Maschler (remember the Evening Standard restaurant critic?) once was taken here by her cabbie (in about 1998 or something) and her very favourable review is still gracing the front of the take-away menu today.

But anyway, make your own mind up when you're in the area. Go there after having been to the pub at the weekend (they are open until about 2am :)) or just for normal dinner.

Chilli Chicken Bayang is my current favourite but the Saag Goscht is the one I will always always default to after a while. Yum!

Review of Luna Rossa

08 Apr 08, 17:35

Great local Italian 4*

This little Italian restaurant at the bottom of the High Road is easy to miss, stuck between a sort of curry house and, at the moment, lots of scaffolding but it's really worth popping in.

Every time I have been it's been pretty empty and I don't know why. The food is great value and really yummy. Portions are big and the staff are all very attentive and nice.

Also: LOVE all the massive images of Italian film stars such as Gina Lollobrigida and legend Sophia Loren dotted around the walls.
