Fabulous colourist 5*

I've just seen Amie Wilson @ the Urban Retreat salon in Harrods and she was brilliant. Excellent colour, no nonsense approach. Completely stress free.

Thoroughly recommend.

Review of Eight Over Eight

Fun but crowded 3*

I was here on Saturday, you have to pretty much stake out the bar and hawk around to find a spot to sit - this place is popular and small so you have to be strategic.

Great cocktails though.

Review of Whole Foods

Horrible Whole Foods 1*

I visited Whole Foods on saturday and it was a completely vile experience. The place is a mad house. There is now queing system - you just have to scrum it out to order and by the time they actually serve you the food is cold and congealed.

It is also terribly expensive. I paid £4.50 for an inedible waffle. The place is noisy and messy and it is best avoided.

Review of Gina Shoes

Shoe Bling 4*

Fit for a showgirl - these are the sparkliest shoes on the planet. If you want crystal toes, then this is the place to shop. Perfect when combined with a totally understated LBD.

Review of Knightsbridge Pianos

Hire a piano and make music 2*

Here you can hire a piano for as little as £40 a month. They also have piano practice rooms. Worth remembering if you are having a party and have a friend who could jazz up the evening with some old school song and dance.... perfect.

Review of Big Easy

18 May 07, 19:30

Full On American Grub 5*

For a while this was my fav restaurant - I was going through a burger and fries and maybe some mash and onion rings on the side sort of phase - this place does all that perfectly - but it is heart attack on a plate stuff unfortunately.

The best thing about the Big Easy is that they have a brilliant fun american covers band that really give the place a party atmosphere - really good if you have a bunch of people and you're going out afterwards.

Or, if you have a hangover and need real food, this is a great venue. Although you might want to ask for a seat far from the band. Very load REM covers not good for headaches.

Review of The Enterprise

18 May 07, 09:55

Mmmnnn 5*

Best Salmon Fishcakes in town. Really lovely. Lots of lovely spinach, surrounded by a cappuccino froth , De Licious. I really love The Enterprise but it does have a really annoying policy of not allowing bookings in the evenings and at weekends, which means you've just got to take a chance and can often find yourself jostling at the v small corridor of a bar for ages before getting a table. Go early or late and this is less of a problem. The service is great. The atmosphere is old school but cosy. And, did I mention they do the Best Salmon Fishcakes in town? Order with fries on the side.

Review of The Wolseley

16 May 07, 19:31

Tea Time 5*

Before Christmas I had tea at the Wolseley and it was one of the best afternoons I've ever had in London. My best friend and I were feeling very festive so ordered a bottle of Pommery with our tea. Things got off to a good start. We were so engrossed in the beautiful cake stand of treats that it took us some time to notice that we were SURROUNDED BY CELEBS - Sting & Trudy to the right, Cat Deeley to our left and miscellaneous hard to identify footballers behind us. brilliant. Our tea proved expensive (largely due to the champagne) but entirely worth it. It feels like you are stepping back in time to a far more civilized era, when scheduled champagne teas were the norm...bliss. Thoroughly recommend it. Try and get a seat in the centre circle. Best for star spotting.

Review of Aria

16 May 07, 13:23

Modern Retro 4*

Aria is full of lovely things for modern living. Lots of it is kitchen-related, and so is totally useless for me, but nevertheless i can recognise that there are some serious pieces of kit on offer here.

Also, sweet mugs, lovely bath things and fun cards. Often see things here that you don't see anywhere else. Good spot for gifts.
