Review of Haunch Of Venison

Good pub food
The Haunch of Venison is a good pub in Salisbury (which is overpopulated on the pub front). It has a nice restaurant section upstairs where the food is a bit more sophisticated than your average "pub grub". It's got a nice atmosphere and if you sit on the right side, a really pretty view over the church yard. It's right in the centre of town (opposite the landmark Poultry Cross) so good for tourists as it's nice and easy to find. Prices reasonable and they do cocktails also!

Fun but crowded
I was here on Saturday, you have to pretty much stake out the bar and hawk around to find a spot to sit - this place is popular and small so you have to be strategic.
Great cocktails though.

If you can afford a garden in chelsea...
...then you can afford to purchase your plants here. everything in this store is lovely, but goodness it is expensive. particularly nice to visit at christmas when their selection of seasonal items is fabulous.

BBB
Go for atmosphere, not for food. The decor is fun, the place is always rammed (which is ok if you get a table, or a scrum if you're stood at the bar) and the upstairs turret room is a lot of fun. The crowd is half notting hillbillies and half eurotrash. Cocktails good. Outside area at the front is good in the summer.

Review of Carluccios
09 May 07, 16:36
Dependable Italian
Carluccio's is a chain of affordable, modern Italian restaurants and the South Ken branch is a good one. Half restaurant, half deli the food is dependable and tasty. The menu is quite limited but the classics are all there, mozarella & tomato salad and lovely rice balls - that sort of thing. The canteen atmosphere gives a relaxed and casual feel although the high ceilings in this branch can make it quite noisy. NB beware the hoards of brunching children at the weekend! The deli section is great though quite expensive - beautiful lemon tarts and the packaging is beautiful. I think the best thing about Carluccios are the picnic boxes they do - you have to order them 24 hours in advance, but they are really good value and are the perfect solution for a romantic picnic with zero effort. Lots of lovely pots with beautiful salads and things. Really worth checking out.

Review of Butlers
04 May 07, 13:56
Interesting homewear
Butlers is a German chain and this knighsbridge store only opened recently. I like the cheap but well designed kitchen stuff. And they often have unusual decorative things which you don't find elsewhere. This store is open really late in the week. Unfortunatly the staff are really rude here. Sulky attitude.

Review of The White Horse

The Sloaney Poney
...as it is known. And for obvious reasons. Though the Clientelle may be slightly predictable, the location is perfect and the outside area is great in the summer. Pimmstastic. ...or worth a visit if you just fancy pulling a posh girl.

Review of Baker and Spice

And all things nice...
Beautiful bakery, brilliantly presented cakes, pastries and BREAD. Amazing bread selection. They also do lovely lunch stuff to takeaway, salads etc. Rustic but chic and great packaging. Perfect for pain au chocolate on the run or something more substantial... Enough to make you want to pack your bags and move to france immediately.

Review of Beaufort House

Cocktails (again)
Beaufort house is a regular haunt for my girlfriends and I. Winner cocktails and occasionally you'll find the bar populated by an unusual number of fit boys. Some nights they have small acoustic styly bands in the corner, which gives the place a fun atmosphere. Not much space for dancing, but often people start anyway. Don't eat here though -supposed to be dreadful
