Review of Dune

High Street Shoe Sensation 4*

Dune have got the high street shoe design locked down. I think they are one of the few high street stores who have the heel/width ratio perfect, which makes the shoes look a lot more "designer" than the price tag. Some of the designs err towards the tacky/WAGS end of the spectrum, but for the most part there are some lovely shoes, perfect for weddings and nights on the razz.

Review of The Natural History Museum

07 May 07, 10:20

Art and Culture 4*

Because I live around the corner, the V&A is my fav museum in London, I visit it more than any other. I have trouble navigating and either end up stuck in the silver section (interesting but not that interesting) or in the shop (natural habitat)-. But that's my own silly fault. Last year I went to several exhibitions that were really amazing (Anna Piaggi and the Modernism show were definitely highlights) they to big retrospectives really well. There is something smart and oldfashioned about the V&A and the building itself is so impressive. I've always loved the costume department which is a complete inspiration. The gift shop is more than postcards and posters of important works , they have a really interesting collection of things that you'll never see anywhere else.

Review of Andrew Prince Jewellery

06 May 07, 20:41

Fabulous Jewells 5*

Andrew Prince is a brilliant find. His range of tiaras and other equisite jewellery is enough to make any girl weak at the knees. I am a bit of a magpie, so I simply adore everything this mastercraftesmen produces. I thoroughly recommend giving him a call and visiting him (near claridges) to view the whole colection. I can't wait to order my tiara (and maybe some other pieces as well...)

Review of Harvey Nichols and Co

06 May 07, 19:13

Shopping Bar 2*

I am not a big fan of HN 5th Floor bar - v strange clientelle (predatory women and high percentage of sleazy men makes this a strange atmosphere for girls who just want a cocktail to cure them from lusting after clothes they can't afford downstairs...) Goes without saying that they mix a good drink, but that's just not enough. It might be better in the day, but after 6pm, if you find yourself in Knightsbridge in need of hard liquor I suggest hopping across the road to Mandarin Oriental Bar. Far superior.

Review of Cactus Blue

05 May 07, 18:01

Yee Haw 1*

Cactus Blue-do very good Long Island Ice Teas- On the downside, these will give you a nasty headache. As will the men of a certain age who hang around the bar in a predatory manner. A fun venue, but if you want a girly night out, don't start here unless you want a lot of hassle.

Review of Alberta Ferretti

05 May 07, 10:33

Visions in Chiffon 5*

Alberta Ferretti does equisite eveningwear. This years full length dresses are understated and spectacular at the same time. Cripplingly expensive but beautifully cut and always an investment buy - there is something timeless about her dresses.

Review of Dinny Hall

Nice Silver Trinkets 4*

Dinny Hall does very nice, tasteful, understated modern silver jewellery. Not to everyone's taste, but the simplicity of the pieces mean they make great presents. Very reasonably priced.

Review of Butlers

04 May 07, 13:56

Interesting homewear 3*

Butlers is a German chain and this knighsbridge store only opened recently. I like the cheap but well designed kitchen stuff. And they often have unusual decorative things which you don't find elsewhere. This store is open really late in the week. Unfortunatly the staff are really rude here. Sulky attitude.

Review of The White Horse

04 May 07, 09:28

The Sloaney Poney 3*

...as it is known. And for obvious reasons. Though the Clientelle may be slightly predictable, the location is perfect and the outside area is great in the summer. Pimmstastic. ...or worth a visit if you just fancy pulling a posh girl.
