Review of Zizzi
17 Apr 08, 15:52
Great Food, Great Value.
It is not an easy task to maintain impeccable standards and uniformity of taste across a chain of over two hundred outlets, yet that is just the distinction that the Zizzi has achieved. Their restaurants, serve authentic Italian food at reasonable prices, in a warm and friendly ambience.
This Zizzi is not the best I've been in, and doesn't beat Brighton's efforts, but the food is still great, and so are the staff.

This Zizzi offers all the usual great food, but with added individual Brighton atmosphere!

Review of Wagamama

Fresh, New, Different way of eating.
The restaurants are modelled on traditional Japanese ramen bars that have been popular for hundreds of years - ramen are Japanese style noodles, served in a meat-based broth, topped with pork, dried seaweed or even corn. Chilli beef ramen, made of noodles in a spicy pork and chicken soup topped with a marinated and grilled sirloin steak and fresh vegetables, is hearty and satisfying.
Although modeled on this, this place is totally modern, and with this, lacks some personality.
However, it is a no fuss... get in, eat, and get out restaurant. Great for lunch, but it's "quickness" may not be everyones idea of a nice relaxing dinner! Also, you never know who may come and plonk themseves on the same table as you.

Review of Tootsies
17 Apr 08, 15:33
Modern, Clean, Fresh... and Famous for their burgers!
A bright, airy and modern ambiance with a lot of woodwork, black and white posters and bare brick walls, help recognise the typical retro American restaurant. Smartly dressed and friendly staff complement the setting.
Their menu offers customers imaginative and well-presented dishes - expect to find starters such as classic chicken wings with a choice of teriyaki glaze or Tootsies best selling Frank's hot sauce. The fresh Mediterranean platter with red pepper humous, olives, feta cheese, turtle bean salsa and flat bread is worth trying!
PLEASE bring back the satay chicken burger!!
Only bad point: Sometimes service can ber VERY slow.

Review of Strada
17 Apr 08, 15:30
The best choice for food at Brighton Marina!
Strada describes itself as 'a group of stylish, contemporary Italian restaurants, serving good quality, simple and freshly prepared dishes'. The statement sums up what this chain of sixty plus restaurants offers to people looking for Italian food.
Though Strada has grown into a fair sized chain - it retains the feel of being a local neighbourhood Italian restaurant. The menu includes pastas, risottos, grilled meat, and fish dishes, but they are best known for their pizzas.
This particular Strada is simply lovely. casual dining at it's best, and for dinner, definatley my favorite choice at Brighton Marina.

Review of Frankie & Benny's
17 Apr 08, 15:20
Great Restaraunt, Shame about the location!
Frankie and Benny's combine the best of classic American and Italian in both style and cuisine. They specialise in home style cooking 'just like Mamma used to make it'. This is a great place to take the entire family and represents excellent value for money.
This is not the best of Frankie and Benny's although I can never fault the food.. the atmosphere is just odd, being sited at the back of the car park at the Crumbles! . If you think of it as a slightly nicer option for the family than other restaurants of similar clients, IE Pizza Hut, then it is certainly the better option.
Good Points: Good value, Good fun
Bad Points: Birthday parties and location!

Review of Cafe Rouge
17 Apr 08, 15:11
OK, for Cafe Rouge... not the best one I've been in.
Café Rouge has around one hundred branches throughout Britain all offering a wide range of dishes drawn from the French cuisine. Slightly less than half their branches are in or close to London. Almost inevitably the décor and design of each restaurant differs from the others, but there is a general curtsy towards La France.
In my opinion, this is not one of the best. The Cafe Rouge in Brighton city centre, may have a good atmosphere, and the same great food, but you can't beat sitting outside on the deck in front of the Cafe Rouge at Brighton Marina in the Summer!
Well worth the drive up the coast a bit!

Review of Pizza Express Restaurants

One of the better Pizza Express'
Pizza Express remains a hugely popular bedrock of casual eating. Its popularity is testimony to the fact that across the country, they have restaurants where you will always be guaranteed a good nosh, with children's tastes being well catered for. and AMAZING desserts (Thats if you have room!)
The Lewes Pizza Express is def one of my favorites, especially now "Si" (Another pizza place) seems to have vanished. This Pizza Express shines above the others in terms of atmosphere, class and warmth.

This Brighton store, however, is not my favorite of their restaurants. Maybe it's because there are better places in Brighton of similar value

Review of Pinocchio

Unbelievable Value!
Pinnochio is a very popular, reasonably priced Italian restaurant, which is fantasic for a pre-theatre meal as it's just round the corner from the Theatre Royal, Brighton.
They offer some extremely good deals, I'm pretty sure I have eaten there before and a two course lunch was only £5!
A true competitor for Donatello's, and food and value!
Good Points: Price, service.
Bad Points: VERY busy.. but not somewhere you can really "book"
If your passing, and your hungry and dont want a full on fancy meal... pop in.
Great, no frills food.
