Review of Kambi's Restaurant
17 Apr 08, 14:50
Never Judge A Book By It's Cover!
Never judge a restaurant by its exterior - most of us have been had too often that way, and Kambi is no exception.
There are some areas of Brighton that have taken a dip for the worse during the course of the new developments and Western Road is certainly one of them.
From the outside this may look like a kebab take-away, and yes it is... but it's also quite a bizzare little restaurant inside...
A great lebaneese, family run "shack" with a great atmosphere!
Cheap food, paper table cloths, but something TOTALLY different, and REAL.

Review of Ha! Ha! Bar & Canteen
17 Apr 08, 14:46
Great Atmosphere, Great for a quick lunch bite!
Ha! Ha! Bar and Canteen presents diners with tasty fare in informal and comfortable surroundings. Their food is prepared using high quality, seasonal produce with a focus on sourcing British ingredients.... and it's YUMMY!
Good points: One of the best Ha Ha's... real great Brightonia atmosphere.
Bad Points: can get busy in the evenings, and rather loud!

Review of Frankie & Benny's
17 Apr 08, 14:37
Great value and atmostphere for a chain.
Frankie and Benny's combine the best of classic American and Italian in both style and cuisine. They specialise in home style cooking 'just like Mamma used to make it'. This is a great place to take the entire family and represents excellent value for money.
If your expecting a "perfect meal" this may not be the place for you, although I can never fault the food. If you think of it as a slightly nicer option for the family than other restaurants of similar clients, IE Pizza Hut, then it is certainly the better option.
Good Points: Good value, Good fun
Bad Points: Birthday parties have a habbit of packing in just after I've sat down for a quick burger before the cinema!!

Review of El Mexicano
17 Apr 08, 14:33
A Great Mexican Restaurant!
If you are visiting the theatre in Brighton and are in the mood for Mexican food, El Mexicano is a good place to be in. Quite new, this restaurant is virtually in the heart of Brighton's theatre land and overlooks the Pavilion Gardens... A lovely location.
Mexican food, in my opinion, is only enjoyable when it's done well, and here they serve up everything you'd expect, at great value.

Review of Cafe Rouge
17 Apr 08, 14:26
One of my favorite Cafe Rouge's
Café Rouge has around one hundred branches throughout Britain all offering a wide range of dishes drawn from the French cuisine. Slightly less than half their branches are in or close to London. Almost inevitably the décor and design of each restaurant differs from the others, but there is a general curtsy towards La France.
In my opinion, this is one of the nicer restaurants from them. The Cafe Rouge in Brighton city centre, may have a good atmosphere, and the same great food, but you can't beat sitting outside on the deck in front of this place in the summer at brighton marina.
Great lunch eatery!

Review of Black Rabbit Inn
17 Apr 08, 14:22
Amazing Location, Great Food!
I discovered the Black Rabbit a couple of years ago and, although now very populat it has lost none of its charm in the intervening years.
Set alongside the river at a point where it has already become tidal, you look out over the marsh meadows, which are a nature reserve and take in that distinctive aromatic blend of sea and land.
Sit outside on a sunny day, and take in the relaxing surroundings of Arundel!
Good points: Location, Charm.
Bad Points: VERY busy! Get lunch early, or late... forget about getting lunch at lunch time on a sunny day!

Review of Ask Restaurants
17 Apr 08, 14:15
Best ASK I've visited...
For some time I made the mistake of thinking that no group of restaurants in the region of 200 locations could hope to maintain high quality food. Then one day I decided to put my prejudices to the test, walked into Lewes Ask! and discovered that I could not have been more mistaken...
The Lewes ASK out shines others I have been to, great service, great atmosphere and such a fantastic Location.

Review of Gars

Chinese, with attitude!
Conveniently located near the seafront, in the lively South Lanes and offering OK value for money with what most seem to regard as Chinese food with attitude.
It's always busy, which of course may only prove there are not enough restaurants to go round in Brighton, though from my experience that is not the case!
Well worth a trip... Great Chinese food, presented in a funky style!

Review of Terraces Bar & Grill
17 Apr 08, 14:05
OK for lunch... not sure for dinner...
Brighton has long had a taste for the unusual, dating from the time of the Prince Regent with his extravagant, oriental style Pavilion marking the establishment of Brighton as a spa town.
This place, with it's different layout certainly tries to keep up with brighton, and was fine for lunch, nothing special and not sure I would want to go there for an evening out.
Better than going to Burger King next door!

Review of Hungry Monk
17 Apr 08, 13:59
Expensive, but different, and well worth a visit!
The Hungry Monk is a charming restaurant nestling in the foothills of the South Downs, between Eastbourne and Brighton
You can choose to have pre-dinner drinks on the terrace or in one of the cosy sitting rooms before finding your way through to the beamy main dining room for dinner
The food is amazing, but expensive... save this for a special occasion, or to impress!
