Review of HMV UK

03 Jan 08, 13:17

Good for browsing and buying. 4*

To find HMV, once inside Brent cross make sure you are on the upper level and head to Fennicks, if you are approaching from John Lewis HMV is on the right-hand side.

The store is much smaller than it's Oxford Street counterpart but the staff in the Brent Cross HMV are more than happy to advise you on anything within the store. From whether you should buy a PS3 or Nintendo Wii or whether the most recent album is a decent present for someone.

Unlike the HMV in Oxford Street the one in Brent Cross does not to my knowledge sell any posters.

Review of Games Workshop

Great for advice not for self esteem. 4*

The Games Workshop in Brent Cross is a great place to go no matter what experience you have in Warhammer and the other games. The staff seem to know the rule book for all the games, the race book for all the different races and all the different ways one can develop a model, off by heart. The staff are very happy to divulge their information but do seem to talk very fast, which leads me to feeling extremely stupid. Do not be shy to ask them to repeat themselves.

You can also arrange lessons on how to paint, how to play etc at all skill levels. Or if you wish you can just go in and paint and/or play. however if you wish to play you must arrange it with the shop before hand. The shop is also quite close to Starbucks so if you wish you can take a break from the shop and get yourself a Latte!

Review of Brent Cross Shopping Centre

A great variety of shops! 4*

Contains lots of shops including Marks and Spencers, HMV and john lewis.

Although there are often days which the traffic is terrible, brent cross is usually open until very late, so a good way to beat the traffic is to go late as the shops are about to close or first thing in the morning as the shops open.

If traveling by car it may be easier to enter by Hendon way rather than by the North Circular. This way you will not find yourself stuck in a traffic jam on a bridge.

You Will also find that if you park on the lower levels of the car park you may pay a reasonable price to have your car washed.

If you are not driving I suggest you take the bus which stops by the entrance to the middle court in Brent Cross, or taking a tube to Brent Cross station then the 210 bus to Brent Cross.

Brent cross also provide a bus from the Shopping Centers bus station to Toys R Us and Tesco for free.

The food hall has a nice variety of different cafes and restaurants to suit all needs. I suggest Wagamma which serves excellent Oriental food.

Even if you have been several times, look at the maps when you arrive as there are many different areas to brent cross. A good way of locating yourself is John Lewis and Fennicks are on opposite sides of the main section of Brent Cross, John Lewis being on the same side as the multi-storey car parks.

Also Krispy Kremes (sorry if I have misspelt), which are a tasty brand of doughnuts can be bought on the secound level of Fennicks. (look to the floor for guidance :D )
