Review of Akasaka Restaurant

Superb Sushi 5*

Good quality sushi at great prices! The map suggests it is on Golders Green road but is actually on the entrance to Golders Green Crescent. Do not be discouraged by the outside.

They do a very nice type of sushi roll which is larger than most. It is brilliant for both take away's and eating in.

Incredible! 5*

One of the best Chinese Restaurants in the Golders Green area.

The service is quite fast and extremely friendly. You only have to go once or twice before the staff recognize you.

The food is out of this world. I recommend their Dim Sum which is beautiful.

This is a great place to go for take away or for eating in with a few friends or more. A benefit of eating in is complimentary salted peanuts which are very nice to eat while deciding what to order.

Review of The Book Warehouse

Not my favorite shop. 3*

It seems to be a lovely shop however a lack of organization has lead me to give it such a low rating. It takes me quite a while to find the book i'm looking for, however more often than not they have the book you want at the bottom of a pile.

Review of Tesco Express

A nice variety 4*

This Tesco express has a nice variety of foods which is useful to top up your fridge for the odd item.

A new self service check out is very useful and allows you to pack your groceries yourself.

Review of Broadway Pet Stores

A wonderful pet store. 4*

The Broadway pet store has a very friendly atmosphere and is great for getting advice and help in choosing new pets or about the care of your current ones. Although the store seems quite constricted for space and disorganized, there is organization amidst the chaos. The pricing of the animals and accessories are very fair and the quality is incredible. They managed to find a squeaky toy which took my dog a month to break, which breaks the record of one week!

Review of Simpson Cycles

Best Bike Shop in North London 5*

Extremely friendly staff combine with good service, very fair prices and excellent variety and quality makes this the best bike shop in North London.

Easy to access by bike, car, public transport or walking.

Very close to Hampstead Heath, (the entrance near the Royal Free in Belsize Park)

Review of Brent Cross Shopping Centre

02 Jan 08, 16:54

A great variety of shops! 4*

Contains lots of shops including Marks and Spencers, HMV and john lewis.

Although there are often days which the traffic is terrible, brent cross is usually open until very late, so a good way to beat the traffic is to go late as the shops are about to close or first thing in the morning as the shops open.

If traveling by car it may be easier to enter by Hendon way rather than by the North Circular. This way you will not find yourself stuck in a traffic jam on a bridge.

You Will also find that if you park on the lower levels of the car park you may pay a reasonable price to have your car washed.

If you are not driving I suggest you take the bus which stops by the entrance to the middle court in Brent Cross, or taking a tube to Brent Cross station then the 210 bus to Brent Cross.

Brent cross also provide a bus from the Shopping Centers bus station to Toys R Us and Tesco for free.

The food hall has a nice variety of different cafes and restaurants to suit all needs. I suggest Wagamma which serves excellent Oriental food.

Even if you have been several times, look at the maps when you arrive as there are many different areas to brent cross. A good way of locating yourself is John Lewis and Fennicks are on opposite sides of the main section of Brent Cross, John Lewis being on the same side as the multi-storey car parks.

Also Krispy Kremes (sorry if I have misspelt), which are a tasty brand of doughnuts can be bought on the secound level of Fennicks. (look to the floor for guidance :D )

Review of Costa

02 Jan 08, 17:15

Great for a cold day. 4*

The service in Golders Green is very friendly and they often let you off if you find you are missing a small amount of change.

Unlike the website suggests the best tube station is Golders Green which is 10 seconds away.

I recommend, especially on a cold day, their hot chocolates with mint cordial or their cinnamon lattes. Although these are only part of their festive menu they are served all year round if you ask.

I would not recommend their cold sandwiches which do not reach the standards one would expect from Costa. However their toasted Tomato, mozzarella and pesto Panninis, Tomato and something Bruchetta, and their muffins are excellent.

Review of Dim T

03 Jan 08, 08:25

Great for Dim Sum, not good for anything else. 3*

The Dim Sum here is fabulous and worth coming just to try it.

The rest of the menu is standard but better quality can easily be found outside of Hampstead.

However it is almost impossible to find parking, but if you have to go by car i suggest trying Lyndhurst Rd or Akenside Rd, heading towards Belsize Park.

The 46 stops right next to the restaurant so is a good way to get there.

Review of Caffe Nero

03 Jan 08, 08:35

I can't understand why it hasn't gone bust! 1*

Cafe Neros drinks are often warm instead of hot and may contain lumps at the bottom. Some of their food made me sick and I do not suggest you try it. As it is situated right next to Costa and Starbucks, and a small walking distnace from many other cafes, I do not understand why anyone would go there out of their own free will!
