Review of Lamb and Flag

nice work local 3*

The Lamb and Flag is a little traditional pub between Covent Garden and Leicester Square. I guess it’s one of the very random pubs in this area that is not part of a chain or a busy touristy place. It’s especially nice in summer where you can stand outside the pub and sip your G&T. The inside is pretty old fashioned and the last redecoration was probably at least 10 years ago. Nevertheless it’s a little charming traditional pub in central London always worth a visit in summer, especially if you work in the area.

nice bar to kick off a night out 3*

This little bar is on Caledonian Road close to Kings Cross station. It’s got a cool layout with a round bar in the middle. The usually play loud electro music in the evening which probably isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. They’ve got great cocktails served by friendly staff that will even invite you to have a tequila shot on the house. Great place to kick off a big night out.

Review of Topshop

Top Flop! 2*

If there is one shop I always avoid, it’s Top Shop on Oxford Circus. The shop is usually completely overcrowded by teenagers and tourists looking for ‘trendy’ stuff that is actually so not. The shop has no concept, the music is too loud, there’s too much going on and everything is pretty much overprized for what you get.

Sunday Roast Perfection! 4*

This gastro pub is definitely worth a visit on Sunday. They do the best Sunday roast I have come across in London. For around £10 you get a plate of nice roast (vegetarian option available as well), stuffing, Yorkshire puddings, a nice selection of veg and gravy. The pub is down by the Thames and they have a big outside space for summer. You have to get there early though as it gets really busy!

Review of Hacking With A Difference

does exactly what it says on the tin! 5*

After looking around greater London to find a place to go to every now and then for a hack a friend recommended Hacking with a Difference. It's near Godalming in Surrey and you will need a car to get there. They've got about 30 horses and will ask in the beginning how experienced you are to make sure they give you a horse to ride you can actually handle. Most of the horses are ex-racing horses but very well trained. We went for a guided 11/2 hours hack through the woods. The country side is stunning and great for nice trots and canters. The guide was really nice and always made sure we were ok and comfortable with the horse. You pay 43£ for 11/2 hours and it's definitely worth it! I can only recommend this place to any rider who is looking for a nice place to hack and not afraid of lively but well trained horses!

Review of Fire and Stone

different but nice! 4*

This pizza place is surely not your average pizza place! They offer a range of pizzas from all over the world. Some of the combinations seem a bit weird and I on my first visit it took me some time to decide on what I wanted. I went for a New York Pizza with roast potatoes, bacon and sour cream and it was absolutely amazing. The portions are pretty big and you can easily share a pizza. They have great lunch offers so definitely worth a visit!

Review of Kitchin N1

big promises-big disappointment 2*

This place opened a couple of month ago and after finally getting some time in the diary I was really looking forward going there. We got there around 8.30pm on a Saturday night and the place was nearly empty. The staff was really friendly and explaining how to pick your food from the buffet. It's between £10 and £14 for eating from the buffet which includes Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai and a salad bar. I was a bit disappointed when I went to pick my food from the buffet as some dishes were already gone and weren't replaced anymore by the staff. Also, some of the food looked as it's been there all day, not very appetising at all. The Salad bar wasn't offering a great choice either and all the dressings weren’t freshly made. I had a stir-fry which they cook fresh for you and you can pick your own ingredients. Generally a nice place to go to but pretty overpriced for what you get in the end.
