Does exactly what it says on the tin 
As mentioned, this cinema is a little strangely located, and if you're not a local, would probably be quite a trek / difficult to get to.
That said, it has numerous screens and is always showing a good selection of films.
If you're a bit of a movie buff, I'd recommend getting an unlimited card, which only takes 2 trips to pay for itself and more and gives you access to see any film any time you want.
Best time to go is Sunday evening - not too busy, but great for winding down after a big weekend.

Review of Balans

Good food, good prices
Balans is one of those restaurants you can always rely on to deliver consistent service. Better still, it's delivered by waiting staff who take quite nicely to being hit on while they serve - always helpful when you're having breakfast at 3am after a big night out.
The menu is fairly standard in terms of grilled fish, meats and pasta with some fabulous desserts thrown in for good measure. Prices are what you'd expect for a restaurant in its location, but if I have any tips, it's to try and get a booth in the back area - much more fun!

A cut from Heaven 
It took me quite some years to be persuaded into Firetrap, but now I've popped I've been unable to stop.
This place does the most incredibly well fitting jeans; they're like slipping on a second skin. Clearly, they're modelled around someone with a fantastic figure.
Jeans aside, they do some fantastic clothes generally. The real genius in here however, is that it's never excessively busy so you always get just the right amount of personal attention from the very friendly staff.

Review of Tabernacle Bar Grill

Great staff, great food, great cocktails
I think the title says it all. One of the friendliest bars just past Old Street tube station which does a fantastic bar menu in addition to making some incredible cocktails.
Best of all, the staff are friendly, helpful and always smiling - which in itself is a bit of a rareity in some of the more pretentious Old Street venues.

Look Great on This Dancefloor
The genius of this bar lies not in its staff, not in its prices, but in the following things:
1. The greatest multicoloured lit up dancefloor in the world.
2. The fountain that used to be upstairs which they have now sadly removed (bring back the fountain Reflex!).
3. The fact that it has no shame about having Lisa Scott-Lee (formerly of Steps infamy) as its sometimes special guest act performing on the world's smallest stage.
This place is kitsch, happily camp, and will leave you grinning from ear to ear as you leave at 4am. Just don't go for the talent - there isn't any!!

Review of Dominos Pizza

I LOVE this local
No one dominos branch is the same, and as my local, this is my favourite. Some people might consider it a bad thing that when you ring Domino's they ask you if you want "your usual" but given the friendly and speedy service they provide I think it's a great thing!
The best thing though is when you ring 20mins before they close the kitchen, ask them to bring around take away made up of starters and drinks (with no pizza) and then they agree to it!!

Resting on its laurels 
From the outside, this looks like a great venue - it certainly has a location to beat all others. However, the price of the drinks, the queue to get in and the attitude of the staff means that what should be a pleasant evening out, turns into quite the opposite.
Not one I'd recommend - or only if you're a tourist wanting a chavvy experience of London.

Always about the pole... 
Nice bar, if a little pretentious. The drinks are fairly expensive for what they are and where the bar is but by far the defining feature of this bar would have to be the pole downstairs.
There's nothing quite like getting very drunk on overly expensive cocktails, wrapping yourself around the pole and really going for it. Brilliant!
Should you happen to be sober you still get to laugh at all the people dancing round the pole. Everyone wins.

Review of Wok Inn

The best Chinese in all of Scotland
It's true. You can't beat the Wok Inn, not only does it have a positively genius name, but it also does the best special fried rice in all of Scotland. Add to that, the fact that the portion sizes are huge - amazing, nothing short of amazing!
Its only drawback is that it's not exactly protected from the elements and when it's cold in winter, you really feel it while you wait.

Silver Service for Fish
If you're looking for an aquarium, more brightly coloured tropical fish, or just to stock up on food and water cleansing agents, this is the place to go.
I've been keeping tropical freshwater fish for 3 years now and only ever head towards this place. The staff are exceptionally friendly, very helpful and really know their stuff. As for the fish? Well they're in great condition.
Better than that, when I moved house, they even lent me some buckets to move the water from one end of the city to the next - all at no charge.
Definitely one of my favourite fish spots in the city.
