Good food, good prices 
Balans is one of those restaurants you can always rely on to deliver consistent service. Better still, it's delivered by waiting staff who take quite nicely to being hit on while they serve - always helpful when you're having breakfast at 3am after a big night out.
The menu is fairly standard in terms of grilled fish, meats and pasta with some fabulous desserts thrown in for good measure. Prices are what you'd expect for a restaurant in its location, but if I have any tips, it's to try and get a booth in the back area - much more fun!

Resting on its laurels 
From the outside, this looks like a great venue - it certainly has a location to beat all others. However, the price of the drinks, the queue to get in and the attitude of the staff means that what should be a pleasant evening out, turns into quite the opposite.
Not one I'd recommend - or only if you're a tourist wanting a chavvy experience of London.

Always about the pole... 
Nice bar, if a little pretentious. The drinks are fairly expensive for what they are and where the bar is but by far the defining feature of this bar would have to be the pole downstairs.
There's nothing quite like getting very drunk on overly expensive cocktails, wrapping yourself around the pole and really going for it. Brilliant!
Should you happen to be sober you still get to laugh at all the people dancing round the pole. Everyone wins.

Does what it says on the tin
An excellent place for a quick bite to eat after being out drinking. Great tasting food (actually one of my favourite Chinese places in the Capital food wise), not too expensively priced.
Its one drawback is the "quick one in one out" atmosphere. That, and as pointed out above, the constant staring from the staff who clearly don't have enough to do. Lets you know how it'd feel to eat inside a fish bowl.

An Oxymoron 
I love this place. You walk in, the decor is nothing short of amazing, the piano being played nicely behind you as you sit down to tuck into champagne cocktails, open the menu and...
It's a great menu, but not exactly in the price range you'd expect for somewhere that is decked out the way it is.
Best feature would either have to be the mirrors on the walls which allow you to watch yourself as you eat or the ladies toilets upstairs which are lavishly overdone but in such a kitsch way it really works for them.

Genius, absolute genius!
It'd be fair to say I'm a little obsessed with tapas restaurants and so I like to think I'm a bit of an authority on the good, the bad and the ugly. Barrafina definitely falls into the first category.
Nicely priced, great atmosphere and with staff that clearly know their stuff.
Only snag is that you're unable to book, so have to chance waiting in a decidedly long queue unless you happen to be there early. But hey, the queue round the block just proves how good it is.

Review of Rush

Exceptional...
I have to say, of all the bars in Soho, Rush is in a class of its own. Not only does it supply the most amazing Raspberry Cosmopolitans, but the patrons aren't half nice on the eye either (and I'm not just talking about myself ;)).
Definitely somewhere you want to make a stop at!
