Review of High Road House

Gorgeous room, snotty attitude 
After a stroll along the Thames from Hammersmith, I arrived at High Road House last Sunday afternoon around 5:45 with my partner. We were flagging, and a bit of refreshment in the form of a glass of rosé would have given us the strength we needed to make our way home. We walked in and had a look around. The room, quite simply, is stunning. As the bar was pretty much full (two empty seats, but not together), we thought we might sit at one of the dozens of empty tables. Nope, too bad! Even though folks were eating at the bar, we were not permitted to drink at a table. At 5:45pm. On a Sunday. In an empty restaurant. Really, really stupid policy -- and I am NOT chomping at the bit to return for a meal...
