I went into this store woth my daughter adn cam straight out. the music was too loud, the staff were not bothered adn I think the air conditioning I think was broken, not a good start. the clothing on display is tacky and throw away.

I just love the whole feel of this shop, not only is it stunning to look at from the outside, but it is stunning inside, everything is laid out in a very victorian style and the smells are absolute heaven. a bit pricey but well worth going in for something specail staff are the epitome of friendliness

this place specialises in the most wonderful pasties and the like, from savoury to sweet, there seems to no filling that they cannot wrap in a bit of pastry! the staff are quick and efficient, good when you are in hurry. the prices are a litttle high, but the quality is excellent

this is a great place to go and get something ever so slightly different in the bread range. sundried tomato bread with feta cheese is divine well worth popping you head around the door and having a look, not a very big bakery, but the produce is of the highest quality

this place is another northern store. the products they make are always of a very high quality and I have never had a duff cake or pasty from here. they do really good floury baps which are great made into BLT's a must to visit and I would definitely recommend

the best fondant fancies ever
as Ainsleys are a northern company I have to wait for my visits up north to indulge my passion for their fondant fancies, they are absolutely huge they do a mean cheese and onion pasy and they are very well priced.roll on 10 days when I am going up north!

this baker which you normally associate with nothern fayre is advertising down south. the sandwhiches, snackes and cakes are of extremely good quality the staff are suitably fiendly and helpful you can buy a reasonably priced luch from here, but I wouldn't go every day as you would end up like a tub of lard

this shop does the most amazing crusty white bread. I cannot walk buy without finding myself in there buying a round of sticky buns for my family the cakes on disply are well sized and fill a hungry tum. prices are very esonable. they really are the good old fashioned family baker

this baker always has the most fabulous aroma coming out of its front door. they have a really good selection of cakes and buns, which attracts me as I have a very sweet tooth, I love their pineapple tarts, give them a try , I really do recommend

this shop grabs your attention as you walk by, the aroma is tantalizing. there is a lovely diplay of products in the window. they styff looks expensive, but actually is quite reasonable priced. staffwera plastic gloves which is always a good sign of health and hygiene being taken seriously would recommend

whenever I come to Yorkshire I make a bee line for thorntons to take home special toofee for my uncle. he has a very seet tooth, and nobody makes toffee like thorntons they are constanly adding to their range and this store even now sells ice cream. rge service is very good and the prices are a bit high ,but worth it

this is a much smaller store. the stock is of reduced size to other stores, and only has clothing on display, no shoes. the staff are very attentive and always willing to help, especially if you are trying on something and need a bigger or smaller size

where are the size 12's??? 
all the stuff in this store seems to be geared up for really thin young teenage girls. great if you are a size 8 but most of us are not. this store is on the small size and has a fairly wide range of clothing. staff were a bit thin on the ground, but service was quick. well they served my daughter quickly!!!

right in the heart of york, so an excellent place to include in your city centre shopping spree. contains all the usual monsoon stock, but also sells a really good range of home accessories this you don't get in every store. I bought a beautiful candle holder, and will be adding to the collection

you could imagine coming in here to buy all of your holiday wardrobe. the styles are definitely more in favor of the summer. all the shop is geared towards selling complete outfits so you can get everything you need from here. the shop has good changing room facilities and the staff are very helpful

this place has always been the market leader in comfotable yet stylish leisure wear, ie jogging bottoms and tops. they have a really butifully styled shop everything is crisp and clean. the staff wear the outfits that they sell so that gives you an idea as to what clothing will look like well worth a visit

Pavers have a really good reputation. the staff are very well trained and the customer care is top quality. the shoes on offer are always made to the highest standard this store is on the small side but they do do a really good cross selection of the pavers range. well worth haveing a look to see what they have got on offer. sometimes they do 2 pairs of shoes for a special price

clarkes have such a good reputation that is very hard for other stores to live up to. the service here is 10 out of 10 the measuring service that they provide is excellent. this store is not the biggest but it does have a really good childrens area to the rear and stuff to keep the kids amused whilst they are being fitted

good family day out
we brought our children here when they were quite young it helped thatthe admission was free so as we were on a very tight budget it made a good day out for us all. the trains were amazing. there was a coach that had been used by royalty and it was stunnibg. all in all we had a super day. I really would recommend it for a young family

excellent
came here withmy children when they were quite young. takes you through a journey in time to see how the vikings came to this country. you sit on alittle train and it takes you trhough the centries. they even have cooking pot aromas as you go by. very interesting. helped my daughter with a school project. well worth going

Marks and Spencers, as English as fish and chips love it here. as the saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it. I have been able to get apricot swiss roll for the last 25 years and it is still the same amazing quality!!
