Review of Martins Wine Bar

i love it but its one for the locals
Run by my good friend George.
I spent 4 years of my life in this bar.
Unless you work for Haymarket Publishing, don't go. Strangers always last about 2 minutes then leg it after the bizarre looks by the locals.
It's not so much a wine bar as a cafe with a small pub downstairs.
If you ever get invited by a friend from Haymarket you're bound to have a good time. The staff are friendly and on a good night will let you play dj. George, the owner knows every single punter's name and is a lovely guy hence his loyal following.
Not open on weekends, due to the fact that the office next door only operates from Monday to Friday.
If you ever go for lunch, the ploughams is spot on.

Review of Bella Italia

awful
I got food poisoning here twice.
I only went back the second time because I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Wish I hadn't bothered.
The food is bland, the service is rubbish.
If you like getting your elbow knocked everytime the waiter walks down the ridiculuously narrow aisle next to you then this is the place for you.

Review of Zigfrid

Party Central
Zigfrid's is the ultimate morning after bar. If you've had a really late one the night before at the Cross/Egg/Fabric this is a great place to meet up with your mates and share your gossip over a bottle of Veuve.
If you're hungry, the food is big. 2 of you can probably share.
On a sunday, around 3pm it starts to get lively and they get a Dj to play in the main bar. This attracts the clubbing crowd again. The mix of people in there is eclectic and you'll often find crazily dressed people from last night's hat party turning up as the day goes on.
This place is for the party animal so if you want a quiet one, don't go.
The decor is briliant. A bit like an old curiosity shop at the front with beaten up old sofas.
The drinks are decently priced too. Friday night's here rock. It gets very busy so turn up before 10pm otherwise you'll be queuing outside, and it's one in one out.

Review of Firefly

Connect 4
I have many a fond memory of spending weekday afternoons in the Firefly playing Connect 4.
This pub is nicely located on clapham common south side and is great to drop into after a lazy day in the sun on the common or a drink to warm you up on a cold evening - The blazing fire outside is too hard to resist when it's cold.
They play a really strange mix of music. One minute it will be hard core rock, the next, pop music.
It's a quiet place and is more suited for drinks and a catch up with a few mates rather than a party.
You wouldn't feel uncomfortable popping in here on your own and reading the sunday papers with a pint of beer waiting for one of your mates to arrive.
The staff are nice, and all pretty hot too.
The food is ok but a bit pricey. The antipasto isn't great. If you're gonna eat, go for the duck as you get loads, or eat before you arrive.
They do a quiz on a Monday night and have lots of board games to play with too.
Take a jacket and sit outside. It's nice to be by the fire and perfect for people watching.

Review of Leather Bottle

pukka tukka
the best burger i ever had was served in the leather bottle. their food is brilliant.
seek this place out if it's sunny as it has an awesome beer garden.
my fave time of the year is to go when it's winter. it's got such a cosy feel inside, they do some great ales and there are plenty of board games to play over a long lazy sunday afternoon.
it's a shame Earlsfield is a pain in the butt to get to but it does mean that you're usually surrounded by lcoals which is no bad thing.
sunday drinking at its best

Review of Two Brewers
15 Apr 08, 12:32
Amazing!
Best place in Clapham - hands down
Best to get there before 10 otherwise u have to pay 5 pounds to get in. Trust me though, once you've been inside you'd pay a 50 pounds cover charge to get back in.
Lovingly called the sewers by it's regulars, the 2 brewers is one of those places where you could walk in alone, and leave 4 hours later with armfulls of friends. Wake up the next day and check your phone, there'll be at least 3 messages you've sent to unknown numbers saying 'i love you, my new best friend, can't wait to see u again!'
Brewers has something for everyone. If you like pop music: Atomic Kitten and Billie Piper are played frequently in the front bar which looks like a wetherspoons but a million times better. If you like dance music then at around 10pm the back room opens up and they play some seriously good tunes. if you're into sports, they even have a pool table. See, they think of everyone!
There are poles in the back room if u harbour an inner Elizabeth Berkley like my friends and I. You can rest assured that you will always have an admiring audience at your beck and call if you choose to do a floor show.
I would hazard a guess and say that I have been to the brewers over 200 times. The best night by far (although there are so many) was when I saw Jackiey Goodie inside. So, to add to it's accolades, it can also be described as as an A list celebrity haunt.
If you're not a fun person; don't go. Why? 'cos we don't want your kind in there.
The drag acts on a weeknight are pretty bad, but they don't mind if u scream 'f*ck off!' right in their faces. in fact, they love it. That is the brewers.
Drinks cost so little. I'm sure i've come out with more money in my wallet than i went in there with on a number of occasions.
It's worth popping down around christmas as they go mental on the tacky decorations, which they don't seem to mind if you steal.
It's best to follow a night at the brewers with a trip to KFC afterwards. I've met some of my best friends of my life over a mini chicken filet at 4am.
Other great things about the brewers: 1. The girls toilets - everyone goes in them, just for a laugh. Once my friend Craig and I met this girl in there who swore she was Alison Goldfrapp. She looked nothing like her. 2. My friends Newton, Sarah & I used to do the vodka trick when we went in; where we would sneak in a bottle of vodka, then we would pour it into our drinks and stash it in the toilet cistern. After the last time, I went back 6 months later, and the same vodka bottle was still in the cistern. Amazing, they probably had'nt even cleaned the toilets in that time. 3. The ceiling drips above the left hand side of the stage 4. Sometimes there is a throne on the stage out back 5. Bottles of champagne cost 15pounds!!!
Go. It will be the best decision you will ever make.
2 Brewers - the place where anything is possible.
