Review of Wing Yip

King Yip 5*

Seriously though...but seriously. This place is incredible. Forget any crazy preconceptions regarding a Chinese supermarket. There's some stonking bargains to be had here. Plus it's a one-stop-shop for all spice and condiment needs. Once you've had the Mi Goreng instant noodles, you'll never look back. But seriously.

Exactly what it says on the tin 3*

If you're after current pop...look no further. Anything that's popular is on this station. There's no shame in playing what people like. Keep it up. Plus the people that work there are cool.

Review of Mello Restaurant

15 Apr 08, 22:33

Not as good as it was... 3*

I first went to Mello in 2005 when I took my girlfriend there on our first date and it was fantastic, great food, great service and not bad on price either. We went back recently and were quite disappointed. They've had a refurb and although the place looks more modern and the food was good, it was nothing special. They've gone down a completely generic route and lost a lot of the character and charm they used to have. This is still a good restaurant, but not as good as it was....

Review of H & M Hennes

Love it 4*

Love it, what more can I say about H&M the best shop ever...! Where else can a bloke buy pink legwarmers, fishnet tights and a faux fur gillet in his lunchbreak without the sales girl giving him a second glance. No judgements, thats what I like about the place.

Review of The Rack and Tenter

15 Apr 08, 22:12

Good location 3*

The 'rack' is a favourite of mine. Its conveniently located near moorgate tube station and in the summer its got a great little beer garden at the back. I wouldn't make a detour over that way especially but if you're in the area and fancy a pint, this is the place. Also you don't tend to get too many 'city types' in there which is an added bonus.

Review of The Maple Leaf

15 Apr 08, 22:08

place to get a seat 3*

I was at the maple leaf on a friday recently and I agree with the last reviewer. Its a good place if you fancy a change from the usual haunts in Covent garden, and unlike the Porterhouse you can actually get to the bar and back in under 5 minutes in the maple leaf! I wouldn't rush back, but i'd definitely consider it if i fancied somewhere quieter on a weekend for a drink.

Review of Mangosteen

15 Apr 08, 22:04

amazing little thai place 5*

I went here with friends on a saturday night and every table was in use, but it still had a nice quiet chilled out vibe. The food was great and very good value for money, It was £43 for 3 of us and we had two drinks each, two staters to share and a main each. I will definitely be going to mangosteen again, but be sure to book if you want to go on a friday or saturday night!

Review of Charing Cross Railway Station

10 Apr 08, 09:32

Trains and stuff 3*

You know what...this station's not all bad. Of course it's run by twats but i've certainly had worse railway stations in my time. Trains come in. You get on them. Then they go. Great invention. In fact I want to thank George Stephenson for inventing the train. If I could review him, he'd get 5 stars. Do you ever wonder what it is that trainspotters are getting out of the whole thing? I do. Maybe we're missing out on the best experiences by not joining in. Food for thought.

Review of Claret

Good God what a pub 4*

40 guest ales a month. Yes 40. It's incredible. It's a nice, cosy, friendly pub to boot. A bit tricky to get to but it's worth it. If you can get on a croydon tram, make sure you get down to this place.

Review of Goals Soccer Centre

08 Apr 08, 14:06

Chav hole 2*

Every week you have to clear chavscum off the pitch before you play (which can take a while). The car park, lobby area, bar and pitch areas are plagued by the little bell ends and their pregnant 14 year old girlfriends. They really need to do something about who they let in.
