Review of Leon

I've seen the future
I've been aware of Leons for quite a while, but there's never seemed to be one nearby when I'm looking for quick healthy lunch, however last Sunday on a break from the Designer's Bloc show finally had the chance to visit with friends to their Spittlefield Market branch.
Very impressive place, which gets a lot of things right. The menu is packed with healthy tasty meals, wraps, salads and smoothies that you rarely get in the UK but find all over the US. Better still the menu isn't limited to one type of cuisine, so you can get everything from a middle-eastern wrap or Indian Curry to an English breakfast.
The décor too takes the best of retro, nostaligic Britain/Americana/Continental style and gives it clean, modern update with big canteen style tables mixes with more intimate booths. Lastly and best of all, everything is super-affordable (most meals under a fiver). If they continue to open as many places as they have over the last year or so, 'd love to see Leon become a real Pret competitor.

Review of Muji

I love Muji
I'm a bit of a Muji obsessive.
Over the years my life seems to have been slowly infiltrated by Muji products, first it was stationary, passport holders and flip flops, and then when I finally settled down in London, it seems with each piece of furniture I've replaced over the years that Muji always wins hands down on quality, price and design.
As such this weekend, I've now added a Muji bedside tables to my Muji bed and Muji bedspread. Oh dear.

Review of Mildreds

Vegetarian Restaurant for non-Veges
This place is a real find. Recommended by my dad, it has a great atmosphere and serves up some delicious food.
I'm not a vegetarian, though sit on the 'not bothered whether meat is part of my meal' side of the fence; however I'd be very surprised if a meat-eater was disappointed by Mildred's menu which offers a great range of solid classics such as curries, pies, Mexican and burgers using super-fresh organic ingredients in healthy portions
They also serve a great wide range of organic beers and wine to keep things green.

Review of The Photographers Gallery

Fantastic Gallery
I love the Photographers' Gallery. Split across two small sites, it holds a wide range of accessible, but always fascinating and beautiful shows.
The most recent show 'Found Photographs' proved to be fun and thought-provoking which questioned the authenticity of the act of photography without ever veering into pretense. Situated just off Covent Garden and completely free, if you're ever passing by there should never be an excuse not to pop in and quickly check out what's on.
They also host the annual Deutsche Borse Photography Awards (or whoever is sponsoring them now) which always proves to highlight some of the world's leading photographers.
Also have a great cafe and book shop.

Review of Aston Matthews

Plumbing Pros
Having just bought a new flat which has more or less needed everything single inch of it replacing, to date Aston Matthews remain the only consistently reliable company I've used throughout - a rare feat I've learned within the field of house maintenance.
While they are not necessarily the cheapest place to source your bathroom, they do have a great range of higher end sinks, showers etc., but importantly, their staff seem to genuinely care about your bathroom and the are super-informed about everything bathroom related - almost unnevervingly so. As a result, I seem to have inadvertently bought every last fitting for my tiny but now over priced bathroom from Aston Matthews

Review of Pickering D.R Associates Dental Surgeon

Easy-to-join London Dentist
Finding a dentist in London is not easy, so I was surprised how easy it is to join this dentist. Turn up on the day, no appointment necessary, pay £20 towards future treatment and that's it. The place is deceptively big, sprawling across three floors with two waiting rooms. It is always busy, so you can expect a long wait (just when I thought someone was going to finally see me and was told to go to the second floor, I found out that I had just hit the second waiting room). That said, my dentist was friendly and very professional and when I returned four weeks later for a filling he picked up our last conversation which I though was very impressive given the number of people he must have seen since.
