Review of Urban Chill

And... relax
Tough day at the office? What could be better than a nice cold beer at the pub? Actually, a nice cold beer and a massage at the pub. A-mazing. Urban Chill are a team of masseuses who you can book to visit your bar, place of work or private event. Their service is simple, a five-minute head, neck and shoulder massage , customers pay what they think it was worth, which, trust me, is a lot. Just be careful not to part with all your beer money in the post-massage euphoria.

Review of Cafe Boheme

Boho Soho
This Soho insitution is open late into the night serving up classic French fare, like coq au vin and boeuf bourguignonne. It's always busy, noisy and bustling and the staff are manically busy, but tuck yourself into one of the many corners and you'll have an intimate and fin evening here.

Review of Orange Shop

The future's bright?
What a peculiar place. The staff veer between seeming surprised that they work here to utterly unorthodox. The good: well, a very helpful man moved all my numbers from an old mobile on to a new. And the bad? After my phone was stolen I went in to get a temporary replacement, during the course of my visit I was advised to lie to the police and Orange insurance in order to ensure my claim was processed. On my most recent visit to try and get my phone repaired, Orange advised me to go to a market stall "or a dodgy trader"? to find someone who could do the necessary. Not helpful and not necessarily legal, either.

Review of The Antiquarius Antiques Centre

Step back in time...
This treasure trove on the Kings Rd is a wonderful way to while away a Saturday afternoon. Lots of little concessions selling lots of lovely old things. Technically it's an antiques centre. Good for jewellery and watches. Old Louis Vuitton trunks and military paraphernalia. My favourite purchase from here was a 1939 drummer boy jacket, I'd been searching for one for years and found it here. It is perfect.

Review of The Breakfast Club

A nice cup of tea and a sit down
Whether you're going for breakfast or lunch, head there early and bag the sofa by the door, by far the best seat in the house and the prime position for people watching (there's often a high celeb-count to make it worthwhile). There's nothing extraordinary about this cafe, it's just that what they do do, they do well. The seasonal menu of tasty sandwiches, smoothies and soups, plus delicious iced coffee is fantastic value, while internet access, papers and Soho info add a personal touch. The chatty staff, walls lined with Polaroid snaps, stylish set-up and sociable feel make it well worth a visit.

Review of Carry Me Home

Buy buy baby
Until recently, mention the word "baby" and it would bring me out in a rash. Then my cousin got pregnant, and suddenly the whole idea doesn't seem so ridiculous. With her due date looming, I went to Carry Me Home in search of a gift... and left empty handed. Though there are some very sweet toys in here, I was after clothing (preferably something with ears, as this will make the baby look less human, ergo, less frightening) however, the selection here is a bit dismal. All of the T-shirts, babygrows etc have been daubed in DIY fluffy lettering (the type you squeeze on, then dry with a hairdryer - you will have experimented with this aged about 12), saying "cute" things like "My mummy loves chocolate". Just not my cup of tea - if they're yours, then at least the lady who runs the shop is lovely, and it's in a nice part of Kingly Court.
